I have a 1998 Nassau Blue Corvette with oak interior. The Color combination is some what rare. My obstacle is that I attended a car show and saw a custom paint job on a corvette that was incredibly beautiful. The painter threw some sketches together for my car and they were equally as beautiful. My problem is do I keep my car as orignal as possible or do I go for the custom paint? Ay advice would be greatly appreciated.

I agree that depending on how custom you go it may hurt resale. I've seen some custom jobs that look incredible and IMO would not hurt the value at all.
Thanks for helping. I cannot post the sketches, but I can describe it. I would be keeping the same Nassau Blue. They would add more metallic, using a bigger flake of blues and smaller flakes of silver. They would add ghost flames. So depending on how you look at the car, you may or may not see the flames. The flames would be silver outlined in nassau blue. The flames would be on the hood and flowing onto the front fenders. I just don't know if it's right for this car.
If you are even concerned about resale value then dont do it,
If you think the paint job is exactly what you are dreaming of, then go for it, but don't expect the next person to feel the same way.
Also, even though your color combination is somewhat rare, that probably doesn't make much difference as far as resale goes. Even the rarest combinations don't fetch much of a premium.
Here's a good test. Would you buy a car with a custom paint job that wasn't well discounted? If the answer is "yes", what if you din't like the paint job?
Thanks for all the help. Your comments were all very helpful. I have decided not to get the paint job on my Vette, but to paint my Sebring instead. Thanks again for all the help!!
I also have a nassau blue/oak, I had black GS stripes painted and the painter overlaid the balck with blue "ice-fire" pearl when the sun hits it the pearl sparkles and the blue is the same color as Nassau Blue, everyone who sees it loves it, I redid my seats teo tone black/oak if you send me your email I will send u some pics,
This is my opinion, if you use the car as a daily driver I would not get the paint job because like it was said before, you would get tired of it. But if you are using it as a show car or maybe a weekend driver you should consider the paint job but only get it if you really want it. Use my motto, Live without regret

Its simple. DO you MOD or do you STOCK your car. If you are Stock, plan to always be stock. Let it sit forever in your garage.. and then hope that some *** in 2062 (well after your dead) goes to Barrret Jackson to bid on your low mileage rare unmodified nubmers matching rare paint car so he can give $$$ to your grandkids in teh auction... then don't paint it.
It you MOD your car. Love your car.. drive your car.. and can afford the paint because it makes you happy. Get the paint.
