How hard is it to convert a 98' and give it a HUD?

I just got done installing HUD in my 97' about a month ago. Cutting the dashboard correctly is a pain in the @$$ . Other than that its just time consuming.

The HUD is cool, but I actually rarely use it! It was awesome for a week or so but now I only use it on occasion, at night, with all the dash lights off.

good luck.

Take your time cutting, I know a few guys who saw mine tried it and ended up screwing up their dash covers slightly so the bezel did not fit right or cut too far in one or more places that were viseable once the bezel was installed.

I use my HUD more then I ever thought, I don't even look at my speedo anymore, and can't imagine ever being without the HUD

Mine came from the factory with the HUD, but if you have the skills to do the job yourself, go for it. It is one option that I would not be without on the car.

It's a pretty easy job. Search the archives for instructions and installation stories.

With a 98 you may need a gauge cluster with the connector to accept the HUD and the wiring harness itself. Check with Gene's Carshop for the harness.

The dash pad is time consuming. However, the dash is marked on the underside for the bezel opening. I cut mine smaller and trimmed it to fit to ensure I didn't over cut it.

It I recall it was less than 3 hours total. Again, search for threads.

Good luck!
