Nice write up. Great workmanship as always.
I'm amazed at the "courage" some of you have to tear into your machines like that!
Kudos to you, too, CBX (if I may call you by a shortened name!)

Honestly, this stuff is alot more fun when you buddy up with a friend or a few and make a mod party of it. This was more a need to project than a want to since I felt the car needed a real kick in the butt to make it more fun.

I'm just that way, Tim. Some call it detail-oriented, others call it ****-retentive. Take your pick.

I was going to PM you about the TC you recommended a few weeks ago - the same one you installed. I tried ordering it from gmautoparts.com but they refused to send it without the VIN which wouldn't jive with their system. I offered to forego waving the restocking fee if it was returned but they were too late getting back to me. I cancelled the order and Yank came through big-time. The 3200 stall I got is amazing. Drivability is virtually unchanged. The wife could not tell the difference which is what I was going for. It kicks like a mule when you hit it too.

Thanks CBX and congrats on your install as well. I spent many a year on my back ont eh cold, hard concrete under the car on jack stands so I know what you went through to get it done. Well done!!!

10.37hp and 8.45 lb.ft. to be exact. Red adds another 1.2 on each count.

The help would have been most welcome. I'll think of you next time - we do have that spare bedroom.

WOW Ed! It's been a long time since I have had the pleasure of reading a new "Patches" write up! Your thoroughness on the photos and running commentary bely your profession...I can tell you are an engineer!

Very impressive all around, thanks for sharing with us mortals!

I've wondered what you've been up to. I should have guessed.
So, when are we going to do the H/C to Mrs. Patches car?
Her car is so clean it could pass for never driven.
Nice job as usual Ed!

Ed; you're more a die-hard drag racer than I am... it may not have been enough of a change for your tastes.

Is fun to do alone WITH the right tools.
I knew once you got a TC & gear installed it would change your mind.
Now, add a little stroker motor and smile even more

Awsome install Patches. I appreciated your comments on my header install posted a few days ago. I have a way to go to get up to your level. It is encouraging to see the light though.

Oh yeah. There was definitely some diff and tranny fluid the cardboard soaked up. Made clean up very simple.

I haven't had time to look for my missing HP. Please fire me an email and let me know a good time to call you so we can discuss it.

Very nice Patches ! You look too be as fussy as I'am ! The guys at HP Performance put DTE stage 2 3.90's w/2800 vig. in my car last fall. I finally got it tuned a few weeks ago & after about 6-700 miles of nice breakin (since install last October the car only has 5K on it) I stepped into it last weekend. UNREAL the difference over stock. The car is muck quicker & the stock funflats are useless. Next thing, headers & after that H/C

Excellent read. Thanks for the great report and pictures. I've got to ask, sense no one else will. White pants?? Is this the ****-retentive side that you spoke of? I couldn't eat spaghetti, in white pants. Good job.
