I am new to the Corvette scene, as well as on your forum. I am trying to learn before buying, so i don't make a mistake.
My question this time is: What is the difference between the Vararam VR-B1 and the VR-B2? Is one better than the other, or just an updated version.
As i said, i'm new and will be full of questions, please bare with me. I learn fast.
Thanks in advance...
not sure but looking at the pics the b1 takes in air from the engine bay area and the b2 takes from outside witch we all know is cooler air and cooler air is better so i would think they upgraded it thats all,i have the b2 love it
I believe the B2 is an evolution of the B1. I think I read they changed the fasteners that held the upper portion to the lower and added some drain holes in the lower portion to allow water to drain.

it is an update, there are better seals, a new way of making them (supposedly better fitting) and a new air filter.
The B2 was an upgrade to improve the quality and make fit better when installed. You will not be dissapointed if you decide to go with this system.
You can get it at a good price from Gulf Coast Performance. gulfcoastperformance.com
They provide excellent customer service.
Also, search the archives for posts from Cajundude and you can find his step by step installation instructions. They are all you need to install yourself. It takes 3-4 hours.

When installed is a good thing... I got mine in the mail from gulf coast performance today.. The quality overall is lacking, for sure. You do however get time at the track, or your money back. we'll see how the install goes, I'm not a mechanic but I'm not stupid either.

The install is really easy, just takes a bit of time. I think Cajundude has a very good write up on the install process. Definitly use his write up as a guide.

When I did mine I used Cajundude's write up and it took me a little over 2 hours to get it installed. And that includes pulling out the old air box..
