they make an ipod interface that will let an ipod hook up to the stock radio, I believe it replaces the factory cd changer spot. Otherwise an fm transmitter would make anything work for you.

ohhhhhhh you mean the stock cd player playing mps on cds?

then I don't believe it does, you could easily get an aftermarket radio that will.

The iPod FM receivers do not work well at all. I use the cassette adaptor and it works very well.

The really good fm transmitters actually mount inline with your stock antenna line and will block outside fm when it's being used, those work flawlessly.

If you mean can you burn MP3's onto a disc and play it in a C5 than yes.

If you want to hook up a MP3 player, you can, but you loose the 12 disc changer...

I believe there is an adaptor you can get that allows you to keep the 12 disc...

Peace
Chip

So what your saying is you need to hook up a mp3 player? I know in the new c6 you can just burn your mp3's and play in the nav system.

Three ways to do it Ron,

1) Burn the MP3's on a disc and play it like you would a normal disc.
2) Hook up an MP3 player to the back of the head unit.
3) Get a good FM transmitter and transmit from your MP3 player via an unused FM frequency.

I think you need to burn the cd in .wav format. I don't think mp3's will play in the stock cd player. Not sure about the cd changer though. I could be wrong....

wav will work in many old players, so I guess you need aftermarket.

I burn all of my CD's in MP3 format, and have no trouble at all playing them through the stock 12 disc changer.

Yeah. I knew that the stock player won't play mp3's. I used to have a changer in another car that was able to play mp3's also. Just wasn't sure about the changers in the vettes. Gotta love this forum and all the info at our fingertips!

Now wait a minute. Are you saying it will play through the changer but not in the dash?

2002 Coupe here with stock cd player and no changer and just tried to play a mp3 cd and no go.
Can a changer be added to the radio without too much trouble?

I bought one of those that works with my XM and it works almost as good as the cassette adaptor. I only have an in-dash CD and the one in the center compartment so I have to use the FM adaptor, I love it as it does block regular broadcasts when the XM is on.
