that the adapter was all that was needed, but i cant see it working

I swapped headunits this summer and used an adapter and all worked well. So they do work as long as you got the right one.

Try a Peripheral Electronics "GMAH24B" they claim RAP and key chime is retained ( I take it you are keeping the Bose amp/speakers?) there is a wiring diagram on there site. I went that route the first time around but ended up with 6.5"speakers sub and separate amps . The adapter setup lasted about 4 days it just did not sound good.

FWIW, when my brother and I did my stereo system the only thing we left stock was the sub-woofers. Thanks to my brother we upgraded all the other speakers. Sound is great.

Just something to consider.

I did the same thing last Summer with Peripheral adapter harnesses yet I wound up removing all the Bose stuff and replacing the speakers and amp and feel this is necessary to meet the goal in audio.

Hi guys
ok then, did a very rough hook up.this is with the adapter i got from a kenwood supplier here in the uk.in the corner of my eye i can see the two connectors c3 and c4 that did go into my stock radio hanging out of the dash slot these are audio conditioners what ever that is.anyways fire it up and em,that sounds ....not to bad.
ok so i get a fav bit on a track .one of those that start soft tinny .and then bang nice bit of bass, really kicks you in the butt.......................
.....er.....no.i have got real nice treble, kinda light crisp music, but absolutley no bass at all. which is what we kind of thought right.
so i duno,
lets just say the seats are out with the carpet and i am looking at
some speakers.....oh ok and some amps.
oh and if you get a strange rapid cicking noise from the pass footwell
its the relays cos you battery is as flat as a witches t**.
i assume the front speakers are ok but the subs in front are not.
how about if i just change the speakers for ones with low range????
or is there a way to hook up the bass side of things in the stock fronts?
cheers all.
