Default Cross Beam Adapter Mods

New to the recent Corvette world and the "Forum"

I have seached the forum and have found several articles about lifting the corvette with the cross beam adapter and some of the mods to make them work better. I recently purchased two sets and need to shorten one. Most of the forums info shows pictures of the mods, but do not give any dimensions.

Instead of just modifying one set by placing the pad on the ends of the center tube, I would like to shorten the inserts and cut off some of each end of the center tube to allow for adjustments and have the ability to use the jack screws for adjustments.

Car put away for the winter and I can't get under it.

Does the C5 and C6 have the same configuration on the front and rear cross beams.

Does anyone have the dimensions?

Any help would be appreciated.

There are a few really good threads out there. One of the best was in the C6 section with a modified x-beam adapter that included dimensions; but C6 dimensions. I don't know for a fact that they are not the same...but I'm willing to bet the farm that they are not. I would take a measurement for you on my C5, but I put it up on my custom made x-beams this morning and there's really no way to get a good measurement without taking the car down. I decided to have my own x-beams made by a local weld shop. They are much heavier and work great...pinned to fit one jack and I have a puck with a drilled hole so they fit my aluminum jack. You still have to drive the front of the car up on ramps of somekind...I made my own out of 2x10's.
