What Type Of Gas In A C5

Shell 93 for me. Heck, I run premium in my Nissan Murano. Both cars COULD handle 87 octane, but YOU PAY FOR PERFORMANCE !
Personally, I can't see a "car person" putting regular in a C5 !

Look at this query this way:
What's the difference from 87 octane to 89 octane to 92 octane? 10 cents from one to the other. Now do the math: Gallons of gas purchased every month times either 10 or 20 cents. For me it's about 80 gallons. 80 gallons X 20 cents = $16. I think $16 a month is a small price to pay for my baby's healthy appetite. Don't you agree....?

I get the cheapest crap I can find. Screw the engine; let the sensors search around. I just love it when my injectors plug up. Why run 350 horses when I can get by with 200?

I don't know if the Hypertech or other DIY tuners will let you detune it or not.
I got a Hypertech to detune my Escalade. It called for 93, and that's about .25/gal more than 87 around here, and not always easy to find. Filling almost a 30 gallon tank gets expensive. It took about 20hp away and was somewhat noticeable, but you get used to it.
I'm not sure that I'd want to detune my Vette, though.

For the few dollars difference use the PREMIUM gas,, as many have already mentioned. It will keep the spark plugs cleaner as well as the injectors,,

From my '04 owners manual:
Use premium unleaded gasoline with a posted octane of
91 or higher for best performance. You may also use
middle grade or regular unleaded gasoline rated at
87 octane or higher, but your vehicle’s acceleration may
be slightly reduced. If the octane is less than 87, you
may get a heavy knocking noise when you drive. If this
occurs, use a gasoline rated at 87 octane or higher
as soon as possible. Otherwise, you might damage
your engine.
