The stock exhaust
on the Jeep SRT8 is pretty loud. I am a Jeep fan, but the center mounted exhaust, like on the Porsche Boxter, look like a sphincter to me. The 400hp is a lot, but he is an a$$ for messing with you. It is a little freaky that he followed you to the gas station. He seems to be compensating for something?

We have both, but our Jeep is not the SRT8. We bougt our Grand Cherokee with the 5.7L Hemi, a year before the SRT8 was available.

I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee as my DD (not an SRT8) and always loved Jeeps but no way is a 4850 lb stock Jeep Grand Cherokee with 420 HP going to beat a stock 350 HP C5 3250 lbs, especially a stock 405 HP C5 Z06 3120 lbs. Power to weight ratio on the Jeep is 11.55, on the C5 is 9.28 and only 7.70 on the C5 Z06. And don't forget the aerodynamic advantage of the Corvette. The SRT8 Jeep gets 11 MPG city and a whopping 14 MPG highway. My Jeep is getting 15 city.

According to the Jeep SRT8 Forum, many of them are running low 13's in the 1/4 mile. That isn't too shabby for something so heavy, even if it is a Jeep. I wish my TrailBlazer SS was that fast.

been doing some research and these srt8 grand cherokee will get up and go. for a SUV.. $47,000 brand new for a 4,900 lb SUV. oh it is fast. but 11 mpg in city and a whopping 15 on highway. how many people buy SUV to go fast???? i would much rather have a cadillac escalade or even a denali. towing capacity on srt8 is a whopping 3,500 lbs that is it. different strokes for different folks i guess. but seems like a waste of money for a SUV . that dosen't provide anything other than a loud exhaust and frequent trips to get more gas. 15 mpg on highway. keep your hemi and the gas pump i say.

I wanted to get the SRT8 Charger but after driving it I changed my mind. The thing honestly felt cheap.

I use my non-SRT8, ZJ (Grand Cherokee) as a DD. It's got a 5.2 with 4.56's (and a ton of other mods) but it's no race car. The SRT8's are fast and I do like them but they are a box on wheels. They will pull strong off the line but will suffer at high end with aero drag.
Good responce to this guy though. I would have told him to grow up and if he wants to race, meet me at the track. Drag or road race, I'd pay his entry fee and we'll race for pinks.

I don't think you would have been embarrassed, but good for you for just ignoring the fool.
