Default Best way to remove adhesive from rear fascia?

I removed the letters from my bumper today and have adhesive residue left. Is there any solvent, etc. that I can use that will remove this without harming the paint? Thanks.

rubbing alcohol, or a little bit of nail polish remover should do the trick. You can also go safe and buy the turtle wax brand bug and tar remover, it comes in a green spray on bottle. it does wonders with tar and adhesive residue left from stickers.

Yup, WD-40 works great. Goo Gone will remove paint, first the clear coat goes, so you won't see any color on your rag till it's too late. Please be carefull with it. David

I had the same deelio...

I used another piece of tape- I think it was the real sticky strapping tape...

Use the sticky side to pull off the residue

And then use Peanut Butter...

I wasnt gonna say anything until I saw the previous post...

I guess its the oil/sugar combo. It also gets gum outta yur hair... not that I have gum in my hair...

Nail polish remover is acetone! I don't think the paint would like it.

The others might be better, or as others have said: GooGone or GoofOff.

I needed to remove enamel pinstripes from a previous car. A pinstriper trained by the legendary Von Dutch advised me to use denatured alcohol to remove the enamel. It removed enamel easily. It won't harm clear coat finishes.
I've also used denatured alcohol to remove left over residue from body side moldings. You will need to reapply ZAINO/wax to the area after use of denatured alcohol.
If in doubt whether to use on your paint try it on an area that is not visible. It will freeze your hands with extended use and it's flammable, so use caution.

3M part number 08984 in a pour can, also available in spray. pour is less wasteful. it will not harm paint! soak a rag, let the remover do the work, no need to rub hard
