Mine has 64k and I drive it regularly and get on it quite frequently. I change oil every 3k no matter what. I used less than a half quart. I have a automatic and shift it.

Early 2001 coupe - picked up 0/23/00 new.

34,000 miles DD.

1/2 qt/3000 miles - trap about 1/4" height in EE Catch can every 4-6 months.

Get on it a few times a day.

No ring rework.

If you mean how much oil am I burning between oil changes, I usually need to put in some Mobil 1 by the time I am due for a change. Not much though.

Default '01 Z06 oil consumption..............

My build date is very late in the production year, June 18th '01 (last '01 production was June 21st '01), which covers the new piston changes made in mid April '01.
Engine mods, '02 air box, '02 MAF, PCM changes in fuel and spark curve, swapped '01 Z exhaust for '02 Z exhaust ( eliminates pups and adds new design CATs). Added oil coalescing/ particle filters ( oil catch cans).

Engine mileage is now 27,000

No ring replacement ( second owner but have all the history of the car from original owner and GM serice history records)

The oil is changed once a year ( before put away for winter) which is usually around 3,000 miles.

Mountain roads and high freeway speeds only. Not really agressive driving.

3-4 oz total of oil in the oil catch cans . No excessive carbon in tail pipes or residue on back of car.

What is your oil consumption per oil change period?

Varies according to how hard I press the go pedal.

(regardless of whether it is by monitor or your personal frequency)
What is the mileage per oil change?

By DIC Oil Life % (they put it there for a reason)

Type of driving (aggressive (lots of over 3K shifts) or conservative)?

Mostly pretty tame, but do "exercise" every chance I get.

Have you have the ring rework done on yours?

Nope, no need.

Just trying to get an idea of what some '01 owners are seeing for oil use.
Not much, unless I'm really pushing it just for kicks for an extended period of time, doesnt burn any.

01 Z06, 65 K Miles, uses about .5 qt between changes and I can get anywhere from 18 to 22 mpg based on how agressive I drive over 2000 rpm.

20 seconds of 5000 rpm in 1st and 2nd totally destroys a week of conservative under 2000 rpm driving ( mpg) but it sure is great fun

I wonder how many '01 owners have had the ring rework done?

What approximate mileage does your '01 current have? About 21K miles.

What is your oil consumption per oil change period? Less than 1/2 quart.

(regardless of whether it is by monitor or your personal frequency)
What is the mileage per oil change? Around 3K-4K miles (performed once a year).

Type of driving (aggressive (lots of over 3K shifts) or conservative)?
Pretty conservative but I floor it every now and then.

Have you have the ring rework done on yours?
No, since there is no problem.

I use about half a quart every 3,000 miles, I let the DIC to let me when to change the oil, usually do it when it says 25 - 30 % life remaining

Rosie (my car's name) uses less oil now that I have learned the cause ... I don't down shift and use the motor to slow down as much as before ...

Of course Torch Red uses a little more oil just because it is the fastest color ...

I've had my vert for about 2 years now.
31K miles.
Change oil every 4-5K (at 20%).
Added one quart bertween changes.
Some aggressive driving and always downshift to slow down, but not at very high RPM's.
Basically stock engine.
Daily driver all year.

54000 miles on mine. Have done one oil change since i bought her in may, only put on 2700 miles on it since i bought her.....used less that a half a quart of oil. No engine work was done however im in the process right now of doing the plugs, wires, and installing a vararam intake with high flow air bridge. Just changed the clutch fluid before she went away for winter...and got to do it again in the spring several more times. I will say this.....if your car is getting up into the 50thou range...and no work has been done to the wires or the plugs.....i would strongly suggest changing them. I know the rule of "if its not broke dont fix it"...however.....ive heard HORROR stories about plugs and wire change...and i know were there coming from. What a pain in the rear.....i just did the driver side today...took me 3 hours. The wires and seems like they were FUSED to the plug.....did not want to come off for crap. i ordered a tool from snap on and it made the job ALOT easier...just my O2....but if your thinking of changing your plugs at all.....do it..dont wait......other than that...my 01 runs perfect...no issues at all.

I think changing the LT1 plugs in a C4 is worst.

'01 with 32,000 miles. After about 3000 miles, the low engine oil light will go on, and I will be good until the next oil change. I don't have to add any oil between changes in any of my other cars, but it's no big deal in the C5. It also gets more WOT than anything else I own.....

01 with 29K on it. Need to add quart about every 2,500 miles or so. For the most part I drive it conservatively but now and then I air it out. No ring mods done. Change it when DIC says to
