Default Ruff wheels-quality?

Anyone had the Ruff wheels before, particularly the 278 model? Are these a good quality wheel, and those of you that have them can i see some pics of them on your car?

VQmotoring is offering these wheels at a great price and I am considering buying, but I havn't heard much about these.

Thanks.

This may or may not help.

I just put the 278 on my car. One of the 4 had a small dent in the lip. VQ made me pay for a 5th wheel and take up a dispute with Fedex. They look great on the car now!

I feel like I've been dealt with unfairly by VQ however. They say we inspect and must have been the tire shop to dent it. Started off right away with, too bad Ken, I hope the tire shop will pay for that. Fedex has the wheel now, I'm out the money, and if Fedex does pay, they will pay to VQ. So they get the money for that 5th wheel twice. They say when that happens they will forward it to me.

Great looking rims. Hope you have a better experience than me.

Ken . . .

Yeah, that doesn't sound too great. Typically any customer service oriented business would rather eat the cost of one wheel to satisfy a customer. Even if it wasn't their fault. This keeps that customer from going onto the forums and replying to a thread such as this one with a story such as yours. Ouch.

Any pictures, any other comments on the wheels or service from anyone else?

Thanks.

I just mounted my 278 this past weekend so I have not had them long enough to comment on the quality but they look great. I had a problem with two of my wheels being damaged; actually they had previously been mounted. I documented everything and Ruff paid to have them shipped back to them and sent me another set free of charge. I will post some pics this weekend.

Previously mounted?? WTH? Damaged in what way? I am interested in the 278s also and have a price from VQ. This thread is starting to make me nervous. Tom

Lots of folks on the forums have them. I just ordered a pair of 281s in Chrome.

I'll report how my experience goes. It's good so far.

So I got a set of ruff 281's in Black 18/19 combo from vqmotoring...
The shipping was fast once they actually sent them out... I put the wheels on today.... So I put the driver's side front wheel on and guess what...the wheel is hitting the caliper...checked them all front and rear and they all hit the rear just slightly...So I called around local and couldnt find any small spacers....3mm or 1/4" stuff..So I decide to just grind down the calipers to make it work...I have done this on race cars before when using smaller wheels and offsets but this should NOT have to be done on a set of street wheels ordered for a specific car. I dont know if they sent me the wrong offset, im assuming thats what happend but either way, just throwing out there that was my experiance today....Wheels look great now that they arent trying to rip my calipers off....Brian

I ordered the 281 in a 19x20 set up in chrome. Fast shipping and the rims looked great. The fronts hit the calipers but the rears fit perfect. After one phone call to Rickie, he sent me 3mm spacers and a full set of lug nuts. I would say that their customer service is excellent and they will do whatever they can to satisfy their customers. Here is a pic of the rims. They are SSSSWWWWWEEEEEEEEETTTTTTT.

Craig???

You ordered a 19' front wheel and it still hit the caliper? What part of the wheel hit it? and how did you solve the problem? grinding the caliper?

Very interesting, sounds like some are having great customer service and others arn't, maybe its all in how the customer is approaching them w/ their issues. However, either way there seems to be a fair number of issues in just these few posts..

I am loving these wheels and leaning towards them...anyone have anymore pics?
