Default suspension question please give input.

I have a 2000 vert. A friend has a 2001 z06 and is buying coil overs. I would buy his shocks if they will fit I have the f-45 and want to get rid of the adjustable shock. Will the 2001 Z06 shocks fit my 2000 vert. Please give any info if you have done this or know someone who did.
Thanks

I'm sure they will fit - but why would you want to go through the effort for a set of seven year old shocks? Would you not be better off buying either a new set of Z06 shocks from Fichtner or Gene Culley, or going to the aftermarket....like Bilstein?

If you are looking to upgrade your suspension, there are other components that you should consider - sway bars and springs, etc.

Also - consider this - with F45, you have the FE1 base suspension.

I agree on the 7 yr old shocks, better options out there. I had one of my F45 shocks go back and put in the Koni FSDs and I love them, plus Z sways

I am saving up foe pfadt coil overs myself but want to do the car in 8-12 months. I am getting an occasional code after lowering the stock bolts with my f-45. His car has just over 15,000 miles and he wants $75 for the whole set of shocks. I just want to mount them up and get rid of the stock setup. I just wanted to make sure they would fit. I will have to put suspension simulators on the car for either set up but for $75 I thought it would be a good deal til I can get my own set of coilovers.

Yea the shocks will fit and will hold you over until the change over to coil overs and I used some sims from raido shack for $4-$5

Get the Z06 springs from your friend. Add a set of Bilstein Sports or for a lot more money the new Koni shocks. While he's not looking steal his Z06 sway bars and you will have a great handling car. It will feel entirely different - in a good way.
