How to eliminate brake dust?
I'm getting a set of CCW wheels and want to eliminated any unnecessary blemishes. One guy said in a post that he was getting ceramic pads. Does this do it? Are they special as in expensive, like every thing else I want? Now is the time to do this while the car is apart.
Thanks

Ceramic pads will reduce GREATLY brake dust, and the dust there is will be lighter in color. As long as you don't track your car, you will be okay.
I use DELCO Ceramics. Either GM Forum Vendor has them (Frictners or Gene Culley SP?)

Tried NAPA Ceramic pads. They work great, but do leave nearly as much dust on the front wheels as the previous set of non-ceramic pads. Oh well, it does wash off.

I do not have experience with ceramic pads although from what I have read it sounds like thats your best bet. They will create significantly less brake dust than OEM pads. I just got done cleaning up my wheels on my 03 Z06 and man do those original OEM pads dust A LOT!!
I also read that for normal street use ceramic pads are plenty sufficient for stopping power.
Here are two links for GM Ceramic brake pads and also a link for a complete set of GM slotted/drilled rotors and ceramic pads. Seems like a pretty nice price also!!

I switched to to Hawk HPS years ago and they do cut down on brake dust. I've never used the ceramic pads, but I know they work as well. If anyone has experience with both, don't be shy.

Do you guys get any squeeling when braking from the ceramic pads? I always thought they were noisy (at least that's what I've been told). I just don't want to come to every stop sounding like the car needs a brake job...bad

As others stated, ceramics will do the trick. Problem with them is they start to fade baaaaddddd after a few hard stops. For most street driving, they should be fine, but some have reported issues in heavy traffic where heated up, they just don't stop as good.
Personally, I perfer the brakes to stop the car. I can wash brake dust off. I can't repair body work or re-incarnate myself.

I switch between the Z06 pads and GM ceramic pad for track or street.
This in on my Daly driver Z06
The ceramic do not dust very much at all, they do not squeak and they perform great for the street.
I use the Z06 pads for track and they do dust, do squeak and do not fade.
It takes about 20 mins to swap out when needed.
It takes longer to jack up the car then replace the pads.
Oh, and i normally take some extra time to deep clean the wheels when putting the ceramic pads back on.

Wash them before first use and apply two coats of Rejex... that coupled with ceramic brakes and all you will need is to wash them with a good car wash soap like Meguiars NXT soap.
