It was on the passenger side, right where the bar begings to bend.

That's very strange. I have never heard of that.

I upgraded my suspension by installing Z06 sway bars, Bilstein sport shocks and lowering on stock bolts. I then had a 4 wheel alignment. Love the new ride. Handles like it's on rails!

taking the twisties hard lately? I have no idea how you could break a sway bar in half, they ere made with metal that is supposed to flex, very maleable (spelling??) not supposed to crack when flexed but bend instead maybe.

Try some hotchkis swaybars w/ adjustable end links

I thought it was pretty strange. It was like that for awhile too because there is rust where it is broke. I ordered the sport setup at the dealer, not sure what the difference is. I wish I could lower it but there is no way I could do that in NY. Way to go with your setup Cosmo!

Hi Bigcountry7 -

That is very unusual.

I suspect the part had been damaged, probably while it was off of the car...and then replaced.

It rusted and got weaker with age and then finally broke.

I thought Cosmo was on it thinking a plastic end link had snapped, but even that would be very unusual.

As the others have said, it would be a great time to go looking for some Z06 sways - but I have a set of the "base suspension" sway bars you can have if you need one of those.

best regards -

the zo6 setup is just thicker so you'll notice the car is stiffer around corners no give. the metal end links will last about forever and really hold the sway bar in place without flexing too.

I think for drag racing some people remove the rear sway bar as that increases traction and decreases stiffness and possible wheel hop.
Did you notice greater traction during this time lol?

Someone correct me about the above if I'm wrong.

I thought it was very unusual. I had to rub my eyes when I saw it. Thanks for the offer but the parts that I ordered from the dealer should be coming in tomorrow. I would ussually check around first too, but I figured that it is such a cheap part I would just order it.

To tell the truth I have been trying to take notice but I don't notice any difference yet.
