Some people are just "CAR GUYS".I got a wave from a guy in a work van the other day while waiting for my left turn light. Maybe his vet was at home, but who cares,, a wave is a wave and I'll wave back if I can.
I love getting the wave. I am a former Mustang owner (I guess I still kind of consider myself a mustang guy at heart....let the flaming begin:o ...) and although it was pretty sweet I got a lot of stares, but I rarely got the wave in this..
The New hotness.....
The first day in my Vette, I got two waves. It feels like more of a brotherhood so to speak with Vette owners, but to me it is all about appreciating the performance, so I wouldn't hesitate to give the wave to something hot, but always to a corvette now that I am in "the club".
Most HD guys I know really dig performance american made cars, it probably has something to do with the American Muscle born in this country. It doesn't matter if your on two wheels or four, there is always that acknowledgement of the fact that it is made in the US of A.
I've been known to wave at Vettes when I'm in one of my other cars. I forget and just wave. So ... maybe that's what's been happening.
Just enjoy the moment and wave back,
SAVE THE WAVE!!
from a guy in a beautiful newer yellow mustang shelby/saleen. Was the darndest thing and so unexpected. He was turning and I was admiring the car when he waved.
I was kind of dumbfounded and forgot to wave back. Man it was a really nice car and if for some reason if the owner see's this sorry I didn't wave back. Nice stang!! Anyone else ever get a wave from a non vette driver?
I was in a rental yesterday and saw a Vert on the A43 in the Midlands of England. Don't see many Vettes and I was so surprised that I threw a wave. I got a really strange look
I also get a wave from the owner of a 1980s Buick Le Sabre. I guess driving one of those in England he has to be an enthusiast. I need to stop him and debrief him on his tastes in cars.
I wave when even when I'm driving my Suburban. I think all Vette owners should do this when in their DDs. It would be interesting to see how many other drivers out there have a Vette home in their garage.
This is an interesting topic.I trace my use of the wave back to the early sports cars, when the numbers were small and to have one made you a member of a unique fraternity.
My intro to that fraternity was a 1957 Triumph TR3 in 1962 and I can assure you that car caused a serious amount of curiosity by bystanders. This was a seriously fun car with much better road manners than than the typical sedan of that era.It was a fun car for a young guy but those Lucas electricals were a challenge....
