Default Anyone run VP Racing fuel?

Curious if any of you that have VP racing fuel stations near you run VP brand as a daily driver? What are your thought on this fuel choice. We are getting a station near my house in a couple of weeks, and looking at the VP web site, I only see 100 octane for automotive use. Maybe I missed it.

I've used the VP 100 octane occasionally. Not much gain for my specific application. I tried E85 and the SOTP torque is very apparent, much more so than 100 octane. I tuned for both.

I am not concerned with the gas mileage with E85. I enjoy the extra torque, performance and the cleaning properties. I recently took apart a 2.0 WRX motor after I was running on E85 for 3 years and the pistons looked brand new. No carbon deposits whatsoever....I'm not kidding.

Not trying to steer you away from 100 octane. What are your goals with 100 octane? Just curious.

No real goals. It is just that when I go to the VP website, I don't really see any fuels offered other than race blends. I was trying to find out what blends they will offer when the station near me gets up and running. All I could find in the automotive section was 100. I have never seen a VP gas station before, so was excited to see one coming in my area, thinking it will possibly sell a better quality fuel oriented towards performance cars.

I see.

I'm not sure if VP will consider putting anything other than 100 octane at a pump. Many factors involved (costs, EPA regulations, etc..)

If you're not racing, or don't have any specific goals, then I'm not sure if it makes sense to spend that extra money on stock applications. I'm not saying you're stock, just a statement.

100 octane is more knock resistant than 91, for sure...

problem with that stuff, and the race gas i use to use, ELF, is the cost. race gas has been hovering around $10 a gallon. so, everyone has tuned for e85

Just spoke with the owner. He said that in a couple of years they will have the capability to choose the blend right at the pump. The additives get injected and mixed at the pump based on the customers choices. Including being able to choose what octane you want.

This technology requires a new pump, so the guy said he probably wouldn't offer this technology, and just keep the old pumps. Thought I'd pass along my findings.

If your running 100 octane in a stock car wouldn't that presumably cause more problems then it would ever help?

For a daily driver it costs way too much to run it, I think I put some in my car 1 time at 7.95 a gal, Never again.

Yes, your wallet will empty before your tank.

Recently when I visited family in Illinois. Across the road from Chicagoland Speedway is a Sunoco gas station that carries 100 octane gas for 7.59 a gallon.
