That was fun to watch. Of course the German's don't have the spotty quality control, and all the GT2's will perform pretty much the alike. The same cannot be said of Corvettes, unfortunately. If they couldn't get the Corvette to have tremendous traction issues under those conditions, that car was sick. And not in a good way.
GT2 has 530 HP and 505 Tq and weighs 3175lbs
Z06 has 505 HP and 470 Tq and weighs 3132 (thought it was more than that?)
The 1st test when he was timing it, he over revved it in seems like every gear, I know I would have shifted before he did and caught myself telling him to shift so that could account for the difference in speed.
Porsche could have be a "ringer" too, on paper they're too close for that GT2 to be able to run off and hide like that.

Even if the numbers are skewed it's still half the price.
I am somehow thinking that this was a very PRO Porsche clip. Watch the way the driver SHIFTS the GT2 vs the Z06, listen to the revs. I certainly believe the DRIVER is everything in these types of comparison events.
When the driver didn't meet the GT2 specs, first run, he offered up many reasons, when the Z06 didn't meet the specs he dissed the car.
But, at the end of the day half the price is probably the best comparison !
He was very aggressive on the shifts with the GT2 and had a HUGE lag when shifting the Z06, plus it didn't sound like he rev'd the Z up near as high as the GT2 where he barked the tires a good bit. All-in-all I say they are neck and neck.
in the head to head, seems like the guy/host in the vette couldn't drive worth crap. Grinded into 2nd every time blaming syncros and over revving the car on launch. we all know that you just can't dump the clutch on these cars.
it was over when he started shifting. unqualified driver or can't shift right handed or maybe someone, probably him, already screwed the tranny before the official test.
Where's Ranger when we need him??!! HE should have been driving that Vette, and then see if the GT2 is quicker. The guy driving the Vette was really lame when it came to shifting.
I'd still rather have the Vette and at least one other car for the price of the Porsche.
+1 I just want to know what kinda of gearing hat porsche has.. A dyno sheet would be nice too... because to pull a sub 3200lb car with 505hp that porsche must be either getting tons of low end power and tourqe or a very aggressive gearbox
