Escort Radar Detector
Thanks in Advance.

Search this site and google some, they are out there for a C5 (might be the same I'm not sure); call the vendor also. I think I bought mine from some trophy store or something, I found all of the info right here. I love mine.

And does anyone know what length Invisicord would be the shortest? I don't want a lot of extra wiring hanging down.

Thanks in Advance.
1. Take the suction cups off the mount
2. Clean the mount where the suction cups used to be with alcohol
3. put the mount on the detector and trial fit it to the glass where you want it to be.........once you have a good location that fits
4. Clean the glass with alcohol
5. Again fit the mount on the detector and trial fit it to the glass where you want it to be and use a erasable felt pen to outline where the mount meets the class.
6. Remove the mount from the detector
7. Get some blue masking tape and clear silicone seal
8. Smear a glob of silicone to the mount where it will touch the glass
9. Place the mount to the glass and tape into position
10. Let dry overnight
This will hold for years.....if you ever want to remove it, all you need is a single edge razor blade

Free “Invisicord” like power for your Radar Detector
If you like the idea of using the “invisicord” type wiring from your mirror to power your detector, you can do it all yourself and save some $$
What I did was read all the “how tos” on the various posts and websites first. But rather than buy an invisicord:
I just took a standard black phone cord, cut a bit longer that I needed to get from my Escort to the mirror plug………allow extra wire, easy to tuck it in the headliner.
Stripped the insulation off a few inches
Located the two wires needed for 12 volt switched and ground (check on the various websites for the correct wire colors for your detector)
Stripped the insulation off the two wires I needed to about 1”
Folded the bare wire back in half and “tinned” then with solder
Removed the mirror from the glass to get easy access to the mirror cord and plug
Located the two wires needed for 12 volt switched and ground on the back of the mirror connector (check on the various websites for the correct wire colors for your detector)
Using a very small screwdriver I just pushed the tinned ends into the wire connectors of the two I needed.
Tested the connections
Used a drop of hot glue in the end of the mirror connector to hold my wires in place
Retested the connections
Remounted the mirror
Concealed the phone wire from the mirror to the Radar Detector
Works great, easier that it sounds………took like 10 minutes.
BTW:
Taking off the mirror just gives easier access to the whole harness.
