Use premium fuel, the higher octane rating the better. I am sure you will get a lot of responses on the air intake. I would only change it if you plan on adding headers and such. Don't do it just to change it.

PREMIUM!!! I know it sucks because of how flippin expensive it is , but you need to put premium in your vette! Also, put a vararam intake with the K&N air filter in there. Some vendor on the forum has them for $380 or so out the door with shipping.

yes it will make a difference, these cars run on premium fuel...

you dont want to damage your engine by filling up with cheap gas...

Ok I'll use only premium fuel.
I understand that it's not a priority to change the intake soon but it should be good to put a vararam.

The car actually run on mineral oil, should I move to full syntec? the car is actually 38000 miles

1.) Premium Only. I tried skimping by with 89 octane once because it was 19 cents cheaper per gallon. The car ran like **** compared to premium and I noticed a drop in gas mileage. I ended up topping the tank off with premium before I'd gotten through all the 89 that was in there.

2.) Intake is a good idea to go with later mods, but its also just good for your car in general. Some say they've proven better gas mileage with them, but honestly the factory intake isn't horrible as it is. For the money though, just do it. You've got nothing to lose by adding it.

3.) I'm with Kertong - I don't know why the previous owner would run anything but synthetic oil in the car anyway. My oil cap says Mobil 1 synthetic only. And as for the grade of oil, here in the midwest where our temperatures are mild year 'round (compared to elsewhere) I run Mobil 1 Synthetic Extended Performance 5W30, which I believe is also what the manual calls for anyway. As for filter, I buy the Mobil 1 Extended Performance filter (part number M1-107) at your local parts store.

The best brand of oil on the market is Amsoil - can hard to find locally, but easy mail-order.

The 2nd best is Royal Purple, available OTC at O'Reilly Auto Parts - you have to ask for it, it's usually not in the aisles.

And of course, you can't go wrong using what's printed on the oil filler cap.

OEM oil filter will be fine.

You have a lot of basic questions that can be answered by reading the owner's manual. I would read it.

Do a search for "CAGS defeat". The search function works very well on this site.

If you shift before or after the 2000 to 25000 rpm range you will not get the 1st to 4th gear skip shift.

Look for an on line owner’s manual to download if you don’t have the owner’s manual. Lots of info in there that every owner should know.

Welcome to Z06 land.
