So, I too thought wow! And then did some research: http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill...ill=hr110-970: "Last Action: Jun 24, 2008: At the conclusion of debate, the chair put the question on the motion to suspend the rules. Ms. Foxx objected to the vote on the grounds that a quorum was not present. Further proceedings on the motion were postponed. The point of no quorum was withdrawn." Sorry to say, but it looks like the idea may have lost it's momentum in Congress.

That's it...no more PAC donations.

Ron Lewis is my congressman. I'll call the E-town office tomorrow and voice my opinion. He one of the co-sponsors.
I WAS going to drive the Vette to work tonight. I guess she'll stay under her blanky.
So, Ms Foxx helped kill it?

Based on the hybrid post lighting up the forum lately, that's probably exactly the deal!
I won't chime in to much, but, after seeing that Hybrid post in the hotel at Bloomington Gold over the weekend, I gassed up and drove home with a civilian-like foot on the gas (meaning...I did not drive it hard, looking for good MGP results). I drove home to Indy at 80MPH when I could, hit a little stop and go traffic in Chicago, but my 6-speed C5 averaged 32.0 MPG to my driveway in Indy. I almost took a picture of the dash I was so proud.
National Corvette Day needs to live!
