Default 2 Questions,Color and best Time to buy

I am looking at a White A4 Vert with a White Top. I have never seen that combo before. It has tan interior.2004 Model. Is this color combo going to be hard to sell? I usually keep them a couple of years and get a different one, so resale is important.

What is the best time of year to buy a Vert? I was thinking Nov-December?

Your thouhts?

Dan

I think that the dead of winter would be the best time to buy any sports car!

Thanks for your reply, I may go look at this next Tuesday, the Color concerns me for re-sale.

The 2009's are hitting the lots now, but the C6's are out of my $ range.Great car's , as I had the opportunity to pick a friends up at Bowling Green and drive it home. Awesome machine.

I don't recall seeing a white vert with a white top - not sure that would be a combo I'd like. Prices for Corvettes usually are the lowest during the winter months from what I have seen.

I'd say the best time to buy is when you find a car you like and agree a good price that youre happy with

Seriously though, approaching winter is the best time to buy a Vert but don't risk losing a good car for a few $$$. JMHO.

I'd say white on white may even be a selling point if its in good condition. I've not seen that many around here. If it wears badly and would need to be replaced that would lower the value.

Color sounds fine to me. Last day of the year is always the best time to buy, particularly from a dealer. But remember, that means deal closed and out the door. If you have to come back on January 2 with an approved loan, it doesn't mean a thing.

I'd say between this economy, and the fact that we are already into August, now is a pretty good time to buy.
Personally I'm not a fan of the white/white combo, but I wouldn't worry about it down the road.
Good luck.

Default color

I have a white 98 vert with white top, tan interior, traded for the car 5 years ago, 40K miles now. At the time the white/white combo wasn't my first choice but I had a street rod the fellow who'd ordered the vette wanted the street rod and had several other street rods, muscle cars and so on. I started reading this site for info and researched the issues before swapping, and haven't regretted it since. This is a GREAT forum and the tech advice is well worth reading and saving the articles for when I may have this problem or that problem versus panic attack when a problem does show. May have to replace outer top in a few years as its showing some wear.
Since owning my car and lovin every minute, another white/white vert appeared in my area so we wave everytime we see each other. And when I'm at the local car shows, my car is the only white one. The combo is rare and have seen only a few other white cars asside from the other white vert, couple of white coupes around. Do not plan on selling or swapping the car as I have had no problems with it since I've owned the car. Not sure how the combo would affect resale

Bought mine a year ago. Nothing but compliments. I believe there were only 442 white verts with white top made in 2004.

Are the white tops canvas or vinyl on the exterior side?

even if you hate the top... it should not cost that much for a black one, or whatever color you wanted.

How hard is it to keep clean and white?

I've seen some tan canvas ones that ended up looking pretty nasty.

I have a triple black vert and had to replace the top a year or so ago. The guy that installed it told me to never put soap on it.

I guess vinyl would be easier to keep clean.

Default best time to buy

Well the best time for me has been when the seller has just been laid off or the wife is having a baby the next week or at an estate sale. Add winter weather to any of the above and that makes for a buyer's market.

Color; well 'resale' Red is number one, with Snow White and QuickSilver coming in at two and three. This is according to surveys reported on MSNBC . I would think Black Bart black would be fourth.
