C5 front/rear overhangs are massive, really show the age of the car
Been used to looking at my car like this:
Now that Ive got the bumpres back on it really hits me how long the car is and how much bumper overhang there is. When the C6 came out I thought it looked short, but now it looks more normal to me and the C5 is looking long. Funny how that works out.
I wish there was a way to keep the rear of the car shorter, but of course thatd take an entirely new rear energy absorber and a custom rear facia.
Just some late night rambling

Ok, where to begin ?
You say "you want to make it shorter"? Is that what I heard?
just messing with ya.
You are right, the C5 does look long (particularly next to a C6).
Me, I like the long slinky (saleen) type look

Supposedly, the C6 was made 6 inches shorter and an 1.5 inches narrow to appeal to the Porsche crowd.
IMHO, I love the wide stance of the C5 and the length gives it a more beefy look. The car does have a big azz but if you like your women that way, the C5 will always get your attention.

Perhaps the overhangs are massive, but the car is sexy as heck.

I love the look of a C5. When I see one coming down the road I’m in awe. Can’t say that about the C6. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing the C6, which overall is much improved over the C5, but it just doesn't have the 'kick-***' look of the C5.

I'm picking it up today They had to repaint my rear bumper 3 times to get it to match. Was an issue with the flex additive tinting the shade of yellow. Came out too dark, then was re-painted and came out too light because they were running out of paint, 3rd time was the charm, we'll see here in a few hours!
The shop owner has asked me to go to some shows for him so it's in his interest to have the car looking top notch.
Wow... thanks for the compliment. It was my fantasy car for a long time too. When it came down to it I'd rather have a targa FRC than a C6.
I'll have some pics up this afternoon assuming everything is proper when I go pick it up (knocks on wood).
Oh and for the record, I'm still enthralled with the C5, just interesting to see how long it looks now especially since I shaved the quarter panel light which broke it up some.

^ Yep... clear bra appt tomorrow AM, then the mad rush to get the interior back in and insulation done.
May throw the Koni FSDs and new stereo on if I have time, but the #1 goal is to make it drivable.
