Will Nitto NT-01 315/30/18's fit on the stock 10.5 back wheel?
Well I had orginally wanted the Nitto 555RII Extremes but with the 305/35/18 back tires on backorder now for nearly two months I am starting to look at other tires. I don't track but do drive hard and live in a place it doesn't get that cold or hot and rains maybe a few weeks to a month lightly a year. So I can get away with a pretty aggressive tire. Also only about 2k a year mileage on the car if that much.
So, someone mentioned the Nitto NT-01's. Looks a bit more aggressive than the 555RII's but still DOT legal. Issue is the back only comes in a 315/30/18. I looked on thier website and they list the 275/40/17 front as 25.55 in diameter and the 315/30/18 as 25.35 in diameter. I always got the impression the backs had to be a bit larger for the AH? Or was the exact same diameter what I am looking for? If so I wouldn't think .20 would make much difference but I don't know how picky the AHII is.
Second, will a 315/30/18 fit on the back on the stock wheel? They have the width range listed on their website as 10.5-11.5 with 11 being the recommended. Any have a set on the back of their car with the stock wheels and have them fit, or any issues with rubbing or anything?
Never thought I would have so many issues getting super high performance tires if I eliminated the expensive Michelins and Goodyears but it's been brutal. And for a car driven how hard I drive mine and how few miles, the 220+ treadwear long lasting tires really aren't a good tradeoff. I rarely get through the first 20% of the treadwear before they are a few years old and getting harder and slippery. I don't care about noise or treadwear or wet weather performance at all as none of these really apply to me and the tradeoff isn't worth it for how very aggressively I drive.
Thanks for any experience you guys might have.

Yes, they will work. Don't think there will be any AH issues... Have you looked at the Invo's? They have gotten rave reviews from many different motorsports groups.

No Invo for the front.
Yeah I had done a quick look see at the Invo's since a lot of the C6Z guys seem to run them to replace the runflats on those Z's. They are more of general street high performance tire than an extreme street performance tire. I think for my use the DOT competition tires make the most sense with the low mileage and good weather use I put them to.
Mostly though the stopper was that for the front the biggest 17" Invo is a 255/50/17. While I like the idea of going a bit bigger, going to a smaller tire with a taller sidewall was a no go. Usually makes the front end seem kinda wobbly if the back tire is a 30 or 35 aspect ratio in comparison. Was definitely one I looked at though. Thanks for the input.

I've had mine on for 3 summers now with stockers on the front. They fit perfect, no AH issues ever, and I'd guess they have 80% tread left. I drive about 2500 miles per summer. I can't vouch for the rain traction though. I've never had my car in the rain. They do stick much better.

I just ordered the 315-30-18 NT-01's last night. I'm fed up waiting for the 305-35-18 555R2's to begin production with Nitto again. They just left everyone hanging and cant give anyone a straight answer on whats going on with their production or when it will even start up again and start shipping. I always wanted to try the NT-01's anyway and they were only $320 each with free shipping so I got em.

My 2003Z with 5200 miles has "rarely" had anything on the 10.5 oig. rims but 315/30s... Both BFG DRs and now Mickey Thompsons.. the will fit and I have never had AH issues...of course it is "rarely" on !!! LOL
