I finally fired the car up for the first time tonight and everything worked as advertised I took it up the street and back and its trying to get use to the cam. I have a check engine light on right now. Im gonna read the codes but im sure its probably a mis fire code because ive heard the first time you fire it up with a new cam it does this. I could be wrong though. It took me two and a half nights total to from about 6pm to about 11pm (wife didnt like all the garage time) But all in all it was a pretty simple job. The information on ls1howto was spot on for sure!! Thanks Mike for the valve springs , they went in without a problem. The car rides fine and doesnt buck or anything without the tune. I need to get it done though. Jay
For the check engine light. I went through last night and cleared all my codes. I havent fired it up yet due to my neighbors sleeping lol. Should this have taken care of it? If not what do i need to do to clear it. Jay

First off what were the codes you cleared? Secondly, will have to wait and see if they come back.
I used ls1howto.com when I did mine back in early 2007, it's a great website Which cam did you go with? You'll want to have a proper tune done. I'm running a G5-X2 which is a 232/240 .595/.608 114 lsa cam and was getting misfire codes from the lope. My tuner was able to tune out the misfire code from setting under 1500 rpms. So it will work correctly when over 1500 rpms.
