Hello,

i have a buyer interested in my c5 427 car, but he really wants to know which factory options the car has. i can tell most by just looking at it, but how am i to be sure. can it be decoded by vin or? sorry for the noob-ish question. and thanks for your time!

I think in some model years the list was in the center console instead of the glove box. You (or the next owner) could always order a window sticker/build sheet from the corvette museum which will provide all that information as well (just doesn't provide quick answers for you right now).

I have noticed this too and wondered why. They both do seem to mean the same, i.e. the 3:15 axle ratio, but why they have 2 different ROP codes I'm not sure.

The automatics came stock with ROP GU2 2:73 axle ratio
The manuals came stock with the ROP GU6 3.42 axle ratio

G92 tells you you have a performance rear axle
G90 tells you which one it is

Probably a holdover when there was more than one choice for the "performance" rear.

Take your VIN to a dealer and ask them to run a printout for you - they can tell you what options came originally on the car.

I apologize for dredging up such an old thread but I have no experience with C5's - I'm a C3/C4 guy. My wife wants a '98 Pace Car so we are going to look at one this weekend. I have searched the forum but I have not been able to definitively confirm the location of the Service Parts ID label in a '98 convertible. I want to ask the seller to send me a pic of the label so I need to tell him exactly where to find it.
