I also wonder why you call the guy a "monkey". Is it due to the physical nature of his job, and your perception that he is beneath you, or was this a racial thing?
I would have called the cops on you, but I don't know if public display of A$$hattedness is a crime.
I am sure, excessive display of speed, reckless driving, and vandalism to a public roadway are though.
Not sure what got you so tweaked. After checking your alignment, they should have offered to blow the sand out of your vagina. Oh, and windshield stickers are pretty 1987...
I can see the tech's comment being kind of rude, but they did offer you a valid possible reason as to why you tires were worn... performance tires are usually a softer compound, and agressive driving will cause the edges to wear quicker... I wouldn't over react about this...
Took the '04 to get the alignment checked at the tire shop where I'd bought the tires a few months ago. They do a lot of Corvette work and were recomended to me by friends who own a auto repair shop and are Corvette owners too.
Got there on time, was put on the rack within 5 minutes.
Then all of a sudden I hear............ "Corvette.......... hay, look at that Callaway sticker on the windshield.......... that's BS..........".
The wall between the public's waiting/office and the work shop isn't sound proof. I heard it. The Office manager heard it. I instantly felt my blood pressure shoot up and the entire room knew it. The office manager and I locked eyes and I said and I quote...." You tell that Smart A$$ to lift the hood and he'll eat those words."
The office manager got with the shop manager. Don't know what was said but shortly the shop manager came out and informed me that my alignment was spot on and suggested that the wear to the outside of my front tires was due to "agressive cornering".
Now I know BS when I hear it. Guess he wanted to sooth my obvious displeasure over the comments I heard. Probably embarassed over the "newbe's" comments too.
When I left they knew I wouldn't be back by the black stripes left in the road in front of their shop.
In todays market place...... You Don't Pizz Off The Customers.
don't sweat it...there are many idiots in the world. You know what you have and thats all that matters.

and I agree with Darwindog, if you bought a Vette to get respect, you've come to the wrong forum for help.
I own Corvette's because they are America's Sports Car.
I Expect Respect as a repeat customer paying for services and goods. That's business. If you owned a business and disrespected your customers, you're business will be short lived.
The blaze of reputation cannot be blown out, but it often dies in the socket; a very few names may be considered as perpetual lamps that shine unconsumed , and this tire shop is not one of them...
Time for a chill pill So they didn't like your sticker or car or whatever ,,, no need to go haywire. Geeze some people are so sensitive about their corvettes.

I understand the fustration. It seems people cant keep there mouth shut and keep comments to them selfs. Yea I probley had went out there and been real nice and said yes its a Callaway and showed it to them. That would of made that guy feel crunchy for saying what he said. and he might of even of apologize for being desrespecting to you and your car. At any kind of business you never talk bad about a customer unless you want your business to fail
Wow, how dang thin skinned can a Vette owner get. Maybe the new President will get a bill passed protecting us from those nasty "tire monkeys". As they say, people in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks. Grow up!
I would of cared less what he said....
Does someone needs a group hug?
