Default Going to order seat foam. Which one?

Ready to order the drivers seat bottom seat foam. Trying to decide which one. I am a small guy. Weigh 135-140. I like a firm seat. Just doing the seat bottom. Not the seat back. I have sport seats.

As a result of info provided in this forum I have narrowed the choices down to:

http://www.shop.djmotorsportaccessories.com/product.sc?
productId=78&categoryId=-1

http://www.parts123.com/corvettecent...050c&ukey=4899

Any other suggestions are very welcome.

the price is right, and as long as the foam has the Velcro strips any vendor will do.. I would go with DJ motor sport before Corvette central.

I got mine from Vette Essentials. Very good quality and the price was reasonable.

I got a rebuild kit from West Coast Corvettes. Didn't even use the included piece of jute which supposedly would have made the seat firm. While the wires had cut into the foam, they did not cut all the way through and with the adhesive spray I was able to get good results. I also got a nice pair hog-ring pliers to use instead of using the zip-ties.
Hope that helps.

The jute goes between the wire mesh and the new foam so the new foam is not cut by the wires, as the foam is cut by the wires the foam becomes thinner and reduces the fitment making the lower seat less tailored to the skin and much less comfortable as the wires sink into the foam.. with the foam sitting on top of the wire mesh the seat thickness is about 4 inches.. once the wires cut into the foam and sink into the foam by an inch , the foam effectiveness has been reduced by an inch maki8ng the seat cushion only 3 inches thick instead of four.

I am taking the easy way out. Ordering the foam and the flange kit to fix the broken piece that is allowing the seat to rock. Then taking the seat and parts to an interior guy.

Make sure he puts something over the wire mesh.. just because he is an upholsterer, he may have never seen a light weight Corvette seat frame before. these wire are very thin. The addition of a piece of jute would go along way to making sure the seat foam stays on top of the wire mesh and not into it.

When I recovered mine I cut the center of the lower cover apart and glued it to the bottom of the seat foam.The leather will prevent the seat frame wires from cutting into the lower cushion.
I used 3M Spray glue to hold it into place.

Seat foam was purchased from Corvette America

Default I used the Corder, but not the piece of jute padding

In addition to the jute, the kit comes with a piece of Cordura. I neglected to mention that in my earlier post. Anyway, the Cordura is plenty tough enough to keep the repaired (or new) foam safe.
