Default Jay Leno's battery cover

Jay Leno's battery cover uncovered!!!!!!

Saw the post about Jay Leno's Z06 video again so I got to looking around the net. Came up with a couple places that sell the battery cover. Don't know if it's the exact same but it has the small tool box built into it. Kind of pricey as well.

Here's one:
Carbon Fiber Battery Cover 1

And the other:
Carbon Fiber Battery Cover 2

I have to wonder if it is pricy becuase it is carbon fiber, i wonder if there is a version out there some where made from a much less expenseive material, if not there is an opportunity for some one to make some money. I really like the idea of having a little extra space to stowe things

Looks nice, but I wouldn't pay that kinda money for it.

Good digging!
The price is no worse than an interior part of the same size. I think it's up to par, and pretty damn nice.

Well, it seems to me that drug sniffing dogs can still sniff past carbon fiber or most other materials, so that rules out using the box to smuggle your cache. Moreover, I'm unsure why the hell you'd want to put tools to rattle around in your engine compartment! We have three wells in the trunk for that!

I saw Jay's toolbox, but come on. It is so little space, and UNDER THE HOOD ! Our cars are not that cramped, we have plenty of space.

Default Ouch

OMG I watched the clip the other day also and thought - what a cool cover. But I guess at that price I'll pass. Where's a plasic molding type guy when you need one.

I have seen one of these carbon fiber compartment covers in person and I must say they are extremely high quality. I could not put up $400.00 for one though.
