I've never had a problem with mine squeaking...

I use mine as a daily driver, and since the seat install I have put about 15,000 miles on it including a few 600-1000 mile trips (each way). I drove straight through both ways from VA Beach to Cincinnati not long ago stopping for gas and some food. I turned around a few weeks later and went 6 hours each way to Charlotte. Obviously it isn't as comfortable as a luxury car, but it is much more than doable. Way more comfortable than 10 hours in my 87 used to be.

It is comfortable enough that I left a perfectly good Yukon at home in the driveway for both trips

Those are Sparco "roadster" seats with custom covers correct?

Do you have the back attached to any type of harness bar?!?! :

If this post was directed at me... they aren't the Sparco roadsters. They are the Caravaggio race seats which use the same fiberglass shell. They are on the factory rails with power drivers side and manual pass. side. Nothing is attached to a harness bar. They are manufactured with the cutouts for the shoulder/sub belts, but I don't know why you would ever attach the actual seat to a harness bar?

Yea.. its looks like they added some padding... and since they dont squeak I bet the added some bracing in the rear.. those look like they could fit the ticket!

I've never had any problems with my 02Z. I have taken several 14-hour trips up north in my car and it's all good except for the side bolsters suck but my back and rear end are prefectly comfortable.

Stock seats in the Z06 offered no lateral support what so ever, took 3 years to finally ante up and get a real set of seats - caravaggios.. They completely transformed the driving experience. I don't move an inch when I go hard into a corner and feel so much as a result.. LOVE THEM, just wish I got them earlier.. They get a little tough to bare on 3 hr drive which was a problem I never endured with my stock seats but its a well worth trade off..

Being a 5'11" guy that weights at about 145 lbs. I have little complaints except for the seats are too wide for me. even with new foam on the driverside (had a tear in the seat and replaced the cover and foam like 3 months ago tops) IO find myself self to think the seat is too soft in the butt, but it keeps me positioned how I like and that is butt to the seat back. What these seats need is an air blatter on each of the side bolsters that allow you to adjust the bolster for you. even my old ford probe had this feature and trust me it made a world of difference. I do feel the bolsters on these seats are not as good as they could be. I like the bolsters on my dad's 2000 Convertible better. I believe he has the sport seats while the Z06's got the standered seats and you would think they would have put the better seats in the z06 instead of putting the cheaper ones in.

As for a fix for the person who as started this thread I am not sure there is one with out changing to a completely different seat.

I had a set of Cobra Daytonas in a Saleen Mustang and loved them. Great build quality and comfortable too.

I guess everyone is different. I lean my seat back at a very reclined angle. This year I did 2 round trip drives from NY to AZ, for a total of 12 days and 9000 miles. I found the seats and car to be comfortable. I am prone to getting a stiff back from sitting, but I had no stiff back after any leg. Try and see if you can get used to driving in a more reclined position. Also, you could have the seats re-done with more padding and better leather.

Thanks - I'll try that on the way home today!

When I first got my 02 Z the main complaint was that the seats in my 92 coupe were more comfortable. I thought about installing them for a test but never got around to it. I agree the C4 seats felt better. My wife is just the opposite. She thinks the C5 seats are better.

I took a trip to IL and put about 800 miles or so each way. I have a bad disc in my lower back. The seats were fine for cruising and trips. I like that lumbar shape. It helps for me.

Now for AX or HPDE it is a different story. I have FX1 PROs installed with 6-point harnesses. Forget stock seat belts. On track they give good support but not good enough. Now on the street. They have no comfort at all. Now way do you use those or similar ones with the stock belt. The pictures posted here of the black ones with red stitching. The stock belt is going over that side bolster rail. That lifts the belt. I would be concerned in an accident that it doesn't lift into your gut and tear you up. When I drive to the track in FX1 PRO I use the 6-point harnesses.

I like the idea of the A4s. Still reclines. There is no side rail where the seat belt comes over. So it should be safe. Looks reasonable comfortable. In general though Corbeau seats are not the best quality. They are fine on a budget.

***Update***

At the advice of others I have tried a more reclined driving position.. This seems to have helped somewhat (after a few days getting used to it). However, this adjustment has highlighted what appears to be the left side of the driver side bottom cushion is a little flattened (vs the right side). I've gone ahead and ordered a new bottom seat foam for that seat ($60.00 from my Local GM dealer). Its coming out of east Lansing Mich so it'll take about week to get here.. I'll post another update with my thoughts on that fix once its in a I get some seat time with it..

In the mean time: I've learned those cool looking Cobra Misano seats wont fit our cars although the sizing chart imply they will.. the seat adjuster ***** on both sides apparently interfere with the trim and the stock seat belt retractor... damn.. they looked nice.
