Default Anybody else have problems with Stainless screw sets

I just bought some stainless screws for underhood, doors, and backdeck on my 01 from 2 different venders on the back deck some of the new screws won't tighten but the old torx bits still will so I know there not stripped out. Those were from a different vender than the doors and underhood. The vender hasn't responded as of yet to a couple things. Don't want to badmouth any vender on this site.
My Q. is anybody else having this problem?

My guess if they won't tighten is that they are a size too small or the threads may be slightly different.

Not sure which, most of them are fine, I think there's 16 or something like that and about 6 of them won't tighten

I do want to add that the screws I got from www.corvettemods.com worked fine. I'm glad they cared enough to contact me right away when they thought I had a problem. Thanks Neal

I bought a set from CCA for the '00 I had and they all worked fine. Hopefully the vendor will get back with you on your problems.

Now that is good customer service.

Even though you aren't their customer.

Yes I had issues with a set for the doors that did the same thing. When you looked close at the SS screws, after attemping to tighten them, the threads looked messed up. Mine was from CorvetteMods but they were excellent and sent me a replacement sent at no cost as soon as I told them.

Thank You again. I might have to take you up on that if they don't come through.
You've really got my vote as a top vender on this site.

Your issues are not with the screws.

CCA's kit takes care of the issues that are related to the plastic tabs that the screws screw into.

Ours are also Chrome as opposed to SS

Peace
Chip

Had the same problem, recieved from b-bay, the screws were to small. So I e-mailed and the guy says I assure you the screws are correct. Threw in trash, just stopped buying from him. Dont want to bash anyone (not mentioned on this thread) but if you have a need to know pm me.

I had the exact same experience as C5Bagger. Plus now after a year the screws are showing some signs of rust! I am gonna paint my oem screws and put them back in.

I had the same problem with a set that i bought 2yrs ago. They wouldn't tighten up so i put them away and went to the local hardware store. They sell chrome fasteners. Matched my factory up with theirs and didn't have a problem after that.
