I tried that and it does some strange stuff for sure. It read song 185. I clicked forward thru the next 7 songs and it went back to song 1...
Thanks for the post !

If you then hit the Random button again, you continue to get new sets of songs, right?

Thanks c5 Bearsfan, I got mine yesterday and installed it. I was being stupid and didn't disconnect the battery. plugged the harness in, and wipers started acting up, and wouldn't park itself, and I couldn't get any audio off ipod.

I disconnected the battery, waited 5 minutes and plugged it back in, and everything is well.

c5 bearsfan, by the way, does the batch that you are currently shipping out still draw battery current even if the ipod is not plugged in?

Yea I hit random again and it stopped shuffling the songs and left me at song 185. I was then able to scroll thru song 185, 186...to 192.... then it went to 1, 2, 3... then back to 1...

The old harness was pretty easy to set it up not to draw when the power was off following Toque's Method.

The new ones that C5Bearsfan is sending out do draw current.

My battery was dead after about 3 weeks of sitting. I knew this was the issue, and I didn't disconnect the battery. So it's my fault.

I need to research a way to fix this issue, I've had it drain my battery dead twice now in the last 6 months. =[

Has this kit been upgraded to deal with the 7-8 song shuffle issue? That sounds like a major pain.

The kit I added to my '04 Ram factory stereo doesn't have this issue and I believe it is from the same manufacturer.

Is everyone experiencing the same issue of the tracks restarting over in their Vettes? Any suggestions c5 BearsFan?

I have the cable that plugs into the CD changer harness and I found my Ipod Touch (3g) does the same thing, 5-7 songs then repeats.

BTW I just installed mine this past week.

What about using this kit http://shop.doubledmods.com/Peripher...ter-ipodc5.htm and just wiring in a small on/off switch on the continous power something like this http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=2062528 and just run it in the center console.

I'm very close to taking the plunge on this but I wish this battery drain wasn't an issue.

I'm also considering running the iPhone charging/plug in cable to come up the dash by the A-pillar since I use my iPhone4 as a GPS with the Tom-Tom App and would love the have the sounds come through the radio as well as charge it.

i wouldnt put a switch in, just splice into a switched wire under the dash somewhere.

If my car is gonna sit more than a week I just disconnect the battery. This winter ill tap it into a switched power source.

For the new iPhone 5 adapter I'm going to buy a lightning to 30 pin cable. Then I can still use the iPad on long trips.

Here is the cable to convert.
