Default Michlein Run Flats

Need opinions guys!!
Looking at Michelin Pilot Sport A/S plus Run Flat tires as a replacement for my '99 coupe.
Anybody have them and if so, what's your opinion? A lot cheaper than the Goodyears with a longer tread life rating. $900. (4 all four) shipped!

Is there an echo in here?

That sounds like a good price for an excellent tire to me.

Run flats suck no matter what tire they are. Look into any non run flat and you will be happier.

IMO if you must stick with RFTs...get the Firestones or stay with the stock GY's....I had the Michelin A/S and while they are a step up from pure RFTs they still suck in comparison to Non RFTs such as the Pilots which I loved until I found KDW II's or the Toyo R 1's

97K on my 99 and I have had:

stock GY EMT
Firestsones (2x)
Michelin A/S (less than a year)
Pilot Sports (lost count)
and now the KDWs which have been by far the best

picked up the Pilot Sport A/S Plus ZP for 99 vert - all 4. Much better ride then the Goodyear. No handling compromise found yet here in north east. Even got caught in a snow storm and the car found its way home. Quiet ride and long tread wear.

Made only for C5. Good runflat tire.

......until you run over some piece of crap in the road, 50 miles from nowhere, and have no spare tire......Yeah, you have a cell phone and a "AAA" card, but who wants to wait forever for a tow truck to arrive.

I had them on mine before I switched to non run flats. I had no complaints. The thread wore out and the tires cost much more than regular tires. That's the only reason I switched.

I'm willing to. I thought about it hard before I purchased non run flats and realize if this ever happens I will have to wait.

I have these on my '99 and love them. They ride and handle great and I don't notice any excess road noise.

A price I am willing to pay for better performance and a quieter ride.

I see that you're selling rebuilt TPMS units. Any idea what the life expectancy is on them (compared to new) (mine are still operating after 9 years).
And if so, can you PM me a cost shipped to 14502 and how much if I return my old ones?
Thanks,
Woody

I bought a set last Fall and am very satisified with the ride and the price. My only complaint is with their appearance, they don't look as wide to my naked eye but maybe that's due to the tread design.

I've no experience of the latest Pilot Sport AS ZPs. I have thwe original AS ZPs and they are a massive improvement over stck. they are way quieter and handle much better in the poorer weather here in England

If you don't need the all season performance there may be tires that are even better.

For RFs the AS ZPs are about the best as far as I can see.

I replaced my GY RF's with these and have absolutely no complaints. I can actually hear someone talking to me while cruising down the road.

Thanks for all the info guys. I'm having a local company near me trying to match everything up and give me a quote installed w/ new rims (ZR1) style and new TPMS units. My X-mas present for the next 5 years!!

Have not had the Michelin tires, but I've heard they are good tires. I did have a set of the Firestone Firehawks and was extremely pleased with them. Might want to check out the prices on a set of them before you make a final decision.
