I have same Garmin Nuvi and mount it on radio window (square plastic window in upper right corner), suction cup works perfectly. One caveat: you won't see the information displayed there if you use this method. However, just become familiar with the radio/CD player, program in your favorite channels and you'll have a nice mount that almost looks like it came stock with the car.
This is how I had mine mounted before I did the Double Din Kenwood Nav...It's a ProClip, you can find them online.........
How does that mount attach to the console?
I also saw someone on here a while ago that used the top of a spray paint can, shoved it in the cupholder and then put the suction mount on top of it. I tried it but I have the widescreen model and it gets in the way of my shifter.
I made a mount that slips easily between the top of the radio and the plastic surround ,looks great, got the idea from someone here on the forum. Sorry,I don't have a camera.

I also have a Garman and really like their beanbag mount. It rides easily on top of the dash when in use and very easy to put away when not in car. Also easy to transfer to other cars when needed.
I heard that someone took a cap to a spray can which fit perfect in the cup holder and then used the suction mount on it. Sounds like a good idea ....one that I will try soon. Right now I just sit it in between the grab bar and dash....it actually stays put.
