I don't like it because it sticks on and looks raised up off the surface of the bumper. They don't always fit well, either. $400 too? with or without lube? If you like the look paint is astronomically cheaper. Personally I don't like blacking out the bottom at all. To each his own, but you asked.

This was my last FRC
the reason I like is is because your not stuck with it if I dont like it I can just pull it right back off and sell it. and not F'up my paint.

Anyone in San Diego want to be the test car?

Andy www.bluebatmobile.net said he would make an overlay for the C5 if he could find a car...

I know this is an old thread, but is Andy from bluebatmobile the guy on the 370Z forums too?

Did he ever come out with a vinyl overlay?

I don't know if anyone ever contacted him to use their car to make the C5 template.

Hmmm... I think I'll talk to him on the 370z forums and see if he did this. I'll report back when I know.

I left a message for him on the 370Z forums. He never got back to me... Maybe I'll PM him and see if that works.

Mighty, that sound interesting. A bit of a different flavor. Any pics? It must look good with the black.

RedZed: how about I trade you a pic of my car for a MUCH larger version of your avatar?

on a serious note, I dont have any pics right this second, but i'll get a good one or two in the next couple days. I work 13 hour night shifts in a hospital (where I am currently), and i dont drive the car to work, but if the weather is nice tomorrow afternoon, i may bring it out of the garage and take a few....

and here are some pix after i painted mine i also purchased a black out kit to match the lower rear fascia and tinted glass .. i like the new look

Before

and after

the trick is to pick a bumper paint either satin or flat black to give a sporty look ..i saw some C5s with glossy black but not really impressed..
I thought about doing that too. Nice job.

Mighty- I shall take that as a compliment. However; I will continue to enjoy holding on to the life size version of the Avatar.

Yeah, if you get a chance post a pic, I think that would look nice on Black.

I just bought the vinyl off ebay... i had several non-corvette pieces that i wanted to cover too, so i bought 32 square feet of it.. cost about $185ish to my door. if you want to go this route, you dont need anywhere close to that much (obviously...), but you have to get a piece thats at least 5 feet long to stretch the width of the rear end.

i applied it myself, and i wont lie to you: it was a major pain in the ***! but the results are well worth it, in my opinion. still trying to get pics. this is my last night at work for a couple days, so maybe i can take a few tomorrow if the weather is nice. i tried pictures in the garage, but the lack of light just doesnt do it justice. i think it looks great on the black because its such a subtle change...
