Before you make the plunge, take a look at both the original Tiger Shark and TS knock-off rear fascia, which integrates the BU lights into the bottom halves of the two interior tail lamps, does away with the integral license plate/BU light frame, and looks much cleaner than a rear with the add-on pieces you have pictured above. It would be possible to paint the concave surface of a TS rear with a contrasting black surface if you prefer, perhaps flat black or even overlaid with carbon fiber, if you want a more aggerssive look. The whole TS rear fascia with hardware was about $700 plus shipping (less for knock-off pieces, and sometimes "sale" priced), plus prep & paint. I have both the TS front and rear on my 02Z, fitment was nearly perfect out of the box, and after paint, looks as though it was GM's unfinished business on the C5 FRC/Z06 design.

Factory look. Install on a warm day. I added extra 2-sided tape and put it in the sun for about 2 hours while applying pressure every few minutes. Got mine on Ebay.

nothing is really necessary is it , but it sure makes us feal good and it looks cool too the piece is more of a hard plastic overlay not a thin piece of vinyl.

That's the point. Why pay hundreds of dollars for a plastic stick on piece when a vinyl overlay will do the EXACT same thing for less? I like the blacked out panel, but the thought of people paying hundreds of dollars and not getting paint turns my stomach.

i have never been a big fan of tiger shark kits , personally i think corvette team did a good job on the rear end design ..i got my lower rear fascia painted ( me and my buddy did it in less than an hour even though we have no experience with painting), it cost me about $20 and turned out really good... i just couldn't pay $400 for a piece of plastic..here's a link if you wanna do it yourself http://www.smokinvette.com/corvettef...read.php?t=839
and here are some pix after i painted mine i also purchased a black out kit to match the lower rear fascia and tinted glass .. i like the new look
Before
and after
the trick is to pick a bumper paint either satin or flat black to give a sporty look ..i saw some C5s with glossy black but not really impressed..

oh btw i used 3m masking tape (it can come off really easy and will not leave any residue )to outline the area to be painted and got a plastic cover from home depot (u could find it in the painting section for 2 bucks) which also helped me to cover more than half to car..

It took a minute to figure out what you guys were talking about, but ......duh ..... now I see . I like it. I'm going the satin black way on my silver ZO6. Thanks for the idea...
