Default Fake z06 brake vents

Who has the fake z06 rear brake vents they sell. I am looking for a used set and nobody seems to have them used. I might go for the fake.

That may be because most people have the actual Z06 brake duct kits that require you to cut the fender (no one is going to just remove those and leave a hole in the side of the Vette). I haven't seen too many people with the stick-on ones but I know they are outthere somewhere.

You will probalby have to buy them new but every once in awhile you can find some for sale in the parts for sale section. Personally Id stay away from the stick on ones. Never seen them in peson but just from the pics Ive seen, they look like crap.

Go for the real ones , It not that big a deal to install them ,I have the Templates for cutting the holes . Scary on the first side but take your time and they look and function too. That auction site has the glue on ones ,and they look like glued on ones.. Good luck with your mod .If you need the templates I can email them to you ..

+100000 on the real ones. I had the fake ones and they fell off in my garage about a day later. Pretty imbarrasing when the wife saw it lol. I would suggest getting the real ones. Jay

I had the real ones put on my 2004 coupe, with installation it was around $400. well worth it though, the fake ones are pointless.

I'm thinking of getting the real Z06 brake ducts for my '99 coupe. All the major venders seem to sell them. Are any better then others; any to avoid?

I have a set I took off my C5 vert. They will need new adhesive and sometimes heated up to shape but you are more than welcome to them for free. Be glad to send them to you. If nothing else, it is a good way to see if you like the look before cutting the hole in for the real ducts. Here is a real old picture from years ago with them installed.

Nice offer by TomBoy and a good way to see if you like the looks. I've seen some of the fake ones and they just don't do it for me - you can tell they are fake. The real deal is more expensive and you have to get over having to cut into the rocker panels, but they look so much better and are functional.

Tomboy thanks for the offer but if you read post 15 I bought the real ones and they have been on the car for 2 months now.
