Unfortunately, not everyone who drives a Corvette is a Corvette enthusiast, so you will pass many without getting a wave. I wave at all years - rarely get a reply from the C6 crowd. Bought my first 'vette, a black '99 coupe, in January. Took about three weeks before I finally got a return wave. Was quite the occasion!
So if you dont wave you are not a Corvette enthusiast? Pure BS!
Since when has it become that in order for you to be a Corvette enthusiast or any type of vehicle enthusiast you have to wave?
So a person could get a Corvette Tattooed on their forehead, design and build a house that looks like a Corvette, wear so much Corvette clothes it looked like a Corvette threw up on them and attend every Corvette show but not give the stupid wave and not be considered a Corvette enthusiast?
You live in a strange world!

Maybe its just my observation; but seems like older 30+ people return the wave 100% of the time while the younger generation is either preoccupied in texting or otherwise clueless.
Eh, I've found the complete opposite.. I usually get smug looks from old guys why I try and wave.

Easy now.....I wave everytime......some of the "older" guys just seem too slow to get the wave off around here

You have kindred spirits in SoCal. I'll never forget one of the first waves I got. I was driving my vert up a mountain road and another C5 vert with the top down was passing me in the opposite direction. The driver gave me the Tony Stewart, but his younger wife or GF or whatever threw her hand high in the air over the top of the windshield and waved like a maniac with a huge grin on her face. Had me smiling for the next several miles.

Takin' it a little hard, aren't you? I started this thread as an intentionally semi-silly topic. I think the fact that The Wave is actually taken seriously by a lot of Corvette owners is kinda funny, but I also think it's cool to express brotherhood on the road, like motorcyclists and Porsche drivers (I was both at one time) do. If I get the car and you don't wave, fine. I'm gonna.
