Default Dte powertrain pulling out

I see on DTE's website they are getting out of the performance "tuning/building" business to the extent provided by DTE. Does anyone have any additional insight other than what Phil posted or the economy in general? Good to see he is taking care of his past customers. My build is still running strong and I just pulled 410 RWHP and 392 RWTQ yesterday at a local gathering in Ohio. Sorry to see Phil go, but one has to do what one has to do and wish him, his family and shop well. GOOD LUCK PHIL AND GANG!

We're *NOT* going anywhere and we're *NOT* ceasing to do business as our press release on our website homepage clearly states, (for which your thread title is somewhat mis-leading) Rather we're phasing out the "tuner" side of our business in favor of bolstering the driveline product engineering/manufacturing side instead. In fact, just a few weeks ago, we just moved our entire business operation to a new, larger facility in Fort Wayne that we purchased (instead of leasing) that will better suit our new business venture goals for the future.

I've been there, done that in the aftermarket "Corvette Tuner World" many times over during my 13 year tenure in this particular arena from being with Lingenfelter Performance Engineering, as a successful engine builder/crew member for a SCCA Pro Racing World Challenge C5 Corvette and now with my own successful Corvette-specific business, so I'm ready for a change for something a little different.

Here is the press release on our website:
http://www.dynotech-eng.com/

BTW- Good to hear your DTE Corvette has been running well for you over these last few years Brian and thanks again for the business.

Regards,
Phil

Congrats on the new building and new direction for the business, Phil. Glad to see that a quality business can prosper in this economy. DTE is definitely one of the top Corvette-specific companies in this market.

Thanks for the words and the business Ed, I appreciate it! Don't sell yourself short though, as you're one of the few remaining "good guys" out there and if you're ever need an engineering job liked we talked about, look me up.

Regards,
Phil

My C5 continues to proudly wear the DTE logo 3 years after the addition of DTE's LS1 performance upgrade package. The power and performance of my car is extremely satisfying and the drivability and reliability are also top notch.

I'm confident that Phil, Jenny and the rest of the DTE Powertrain organization will be well served by their decision to shift business focus. You can bet they'll be in the top tier of this business segment.

All the best to a great team and wonderful people

Good to see Phil and DTE are still doing well. One of the most reputable companies around, IMO.

We are offering installation services of drivetrain related products only for the future for new customers, but we're still taking care of our past/present customers whose cars we've already built if/when they need more performance.

The chassis dyno was pulled from the floor at our old shop, crated up and the entire turn-key system was trucked over to our new shop. It won't be installed there however, since we're getting out of the "tuning" side of our business and making way for other manufacturing machinery that supports our new endeavors. It is for sale though and is listed here on Racing Junk.com http://www.racingjunk.com/category/4...ssis-Dyno.html

Thanks for the kind words everyone and it's been a pleasure doing biz with you all. Even you Big Don! You guys' will have to come by and see us once we get unpacked.

Regards,
Phil
