That was my same concern when I asked about the new shims. I'm sure the self-lubricating plastic is better than the stock OEM shims, however I would think the metal washers fix would be more durable over time. Will the new shims also wear out over time like the stock OEM pieces? Due to the high "pain in the ***" factor of this install/fix, I would prefer to only do it one time when I put my new skins on.
