CTEK also makes some larger models of this charger, is there any benefit to going with one of the bigger ones or is the multi 3300 plenty for any automotive use?
The 3300 is plenty for all Automotive uses....

We have them all, but the 3300 is really all you need...

Thanks,

I have one of the CTEK 3300's that I bought from you - works great.

Unfortunately I wish it worked with the new CTEK "Comfort Indicator". Mine has the red and black leads and CTEK says it is incompatible and that they have no trade-up program.

Can't believe they do not offer an adapter?

Man, I know......CTEK changed the design. Love to see them improve it, but hate to feel like I am missing something new

I too hoped for an adapter or something.

It is a separate unit (not on the charger itself) that monitors the state of the battery at all times - letting you know if the battery is in a compromised state and needs to be charged. If you unit has red and black wires, they do not offer an adapter (so far) to hook up this separate device. It would be easy and cheap for them to offer an adapter to legacy 3300 owners, but I guess they would rather sell a new charger. The new charger offers no other advantages as far as I can tell except the new socket that plays with this new device?

I have one and it is great. I do have a complaint in that I dropped the aligator clips on the garage floor and one of the plastic covers broke on each of the black and red clips!!! They definitely need a better grade clip. The clips on my Harbor Freight $5.00 charger are better quality.

I have been trying to get southercarparts to respond. I have sent them a PM, email, and posted on this forum. I need to know if I truly would need a 3300 for my needs, or if the 7002 or the 800 would be bettr suited. Someone give me some input and what the differences between them. I need to buy one ASAP.

Responded to your PM....

Price is in the link below...
CTEK Battery Charger

You need the 3300, the 800 is for Hobby Vehicles that do not need more than 1000mAh....

Sorry I missed your question,

Jim

Default I Think I Bought the Wrong CTEK

Hi, Jim -

I tried to send this as a private message, but I'm not sure it went through to you so I am posting it here:

Jim,

Several months ago I bought a CTEK battery charger from you for my Z06. I put it on a shelf and have never used it. Yesterday I took a look at it and it's a model 800. I guess what I should have bought was the 3300.

My question is: Will the 800 work on the Z06, just not as well as the 3300? Can the 800 cause any harm to the battery or electrical system. Or, should I just chalk it up to experience and order a model 3300?

Thanks very much,

Colin in Austin

Another question,,watched the little clip,,and it sounds like the 3300 does not have the "supply" feature ,,,is this correct? Can it be hooked up that way without the supply feature? Not THAT big a deal,,just have an after market stereo that"looses it's mind" when the battery is disconnected!!Have several chargers and a few floaters,,but have been thinking about one of these as I have a lot of different uses,,cars,a truck, motorcycle and lawn tractor!!

Here in Sweden where the CTEK charger is made it´s name is XS 3600 and have 3.6A not 3.3A, the 3.3A chargers name is Zafir 90.

I don´t know why.

Without connecting it directly to the posts where on a Z06 do you connect the CTEC ?
