Default Intake/Throttle Body

Anybody with a fairly stock car upgrade their Intake to a Fast 90mm and a 90mm Throttle Body? Is there much to gain by doing these? I have a BP cold air intake and headers(no cats and Z06 Ti exhaust). WOuld it be worth it or overkill for me to upgrade?

I would say on a Stock LS1 you would see around a 12-15 HP Gain.... on a H/C car you would see some more

If I am not mistaken, I believe that there is a slight loss of low end torque with a fairly stock LS1 when using a Fast 90/90 set-up...

Does that suggest that the Fast 90/90 with a set of 4:10's would really work nicely?

You have a LS6 intake now on your 04.

You will not see any diff with the FAST and may actually loose some performance.

TB is a waste of money.

Anything bigger than a 80mm TB on a stock cubes engine is not going to show a significant power gain.

Remember Bernuoulli's principles of fluid dynamics. A fluids velocity in an enclosure (pipe or tube) is inversely relative to the cross sectional area of that enclosure. An oversized throttle body will result in a slower intake velocity and less air getting into the combustion chamber (especially at lower RPMs) The objective with any complete intake system is to match the needs of the engine by eleminating weak spots (kinks if you will) in the induction process.

I wouldn't change the TB or intake unless you've already upgraded your heads and cam. You've got a nice set up now with your CAI and Z06 TI catbacks. I've got the same thing, plus I got a second hand Hypertech tuner installed too. My car runs just fine for me, and the little extra power is nice whenever I mash the loud pedal!

If you where running a 150 shot of nitrous would the fast intake and ls2 throttle body add horsepower?

A set of headers and a tune would do much more for you on a basically stock setup than the intake and TB.

Yeah, but who do you trust to do a tune that won't mess up and cause the thing to start throwing all kinds of codes??
