Default Pittman ALR Acrylic Headlight Oxidation Remover

A buddy of mine told me today there is a product that can remove that annoying and ugly yellow headlight color. I wanted to see if anyone here has heard or tried this product. From the youtube videos, it looks like it does take the oxidation (causes light to turn yellow) off of the headlight.

Pittman ALR Acrylic Headlight Oxidation Remover

Thanks

There are actually many acrylic polishing compounds out there. Meguiar's, 3M, and other brands are well-represented at any auto parts store.

Polishing compound works well,I have done about 30 cars using polishing compound and water,if they are really bad I wet sand useing 2000 grit sand paper then 1000 and 500, finishing with polishing compound and wax.

Uh, I think you meant that you start with 500, then 1000, then 2000-grit wet sanding......

Pittman ALR Acrylic Headlight Oxidation Remover

Thanks
I am very familiar with Pittman ALR
It is not like the other methods.
people who say it is a rubbing compound are not familiar with it at all.
They are speculating and they are wrong.

Rubbing compounds are abrasive by design not deoxidizers.

Pittman ALR Is a non abrasive pure liquid deoxidizer, the only one I know of on the market and it is not over the counter like the others.

The others are cleaners, they use abrasive paste and sandpaper.
They cause damage to the UV layer with every application.
this is why a sealer is needed.

Pittman recommends using an acrylic conditioner to retard oxidation build up after deoxidizing and for new cars to prevent oxidation

If you read about how each product works you are better able to decide which will work best for you.

Repairing surface damage requires UV damaging abrasive resurfacing, every product mention her except Pittman ALR works that way,

There is no damage to the UV layer with Pittman ALR.
However Pittman won't repair damage either, being non abrasive it cannot.

No headlight cleaner on the market including Pittmans will correct UV damage.
