Default Honda S2000 vs C5 Corvette

http://www.supraforums.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=552317

Found this on the other forum I frequent. Right now the poll is at 30.71% for the Honda and 69.29% for the Chevy. Personally I figured it would be even more marginalyzed. Anywho, thought you guys might want to see how some of the import guys look at the our gen Corvettes

Got a buddy with a turbo'ed S2K with 650+ rwhp and it will rip the skin off your face accelerating in any gear. He's running the stock bottom end with no issues and he pounds on it constantly - thing is built to survive a nuclear blast. It's miniscule inside though.

I looked at those when they first came out. Wanted one with a Veil Side kit on it. But those things are built on go kart frames and it's kinda hard to get 6'3" poeple in them.

Patches, you would the last person on these boards I would doubt, but how do you more than double the horsepower with a single turbo on a four cylinder?

You already answered your question. A big effing turbo, tuning, fuel system upgrades, tuning and possible oil system upgrades.

Alex, that doesn't compute. If that was true we would be seeing a lot of single turbo LS1 Vettes pushing 700 to 800 HP. I've read enough on these boards to know it ain't that easy and we're working with 8 cyliners and twice the displacement...

Different types of engines bro. Actually it does very much compute. An S2000 can rev to the moon unlike an LS1. So it has more sustainable revs which in turn lets it continue to make power long after 6,000rpms safely. People generally don't put one turbo on a car that has two exhaust manifolds. Riddle me this, how come you see so many Supras with triple and even quadruple the horsepower going from two to one turbos? It's a pretty elementary way to look at it as "well this engine is bigger so that engine can't do it." Come on now.

Google "S2000 700hp" and you'll see several articles and vids. The car is just boosted to hell and back.

Alex, thanks for the input!

I'm afraid I'm not up on the latest turbo technology. Never was really interested in turbo's so I don't have a lot of knowledge about them. Might have to spend some time and get edgamacated...

Those little Honda's are sweet...but it is all about the dollar. Who ever has the most money wins.

That's ricer for 400 crank hp

In ricer land, your drivetrain adds hp....since it's a torque multiplier....
