02 z06 question
Ive recently purchased an 02 z06 I will be picking up the car this weekend, it has 74k on it but is in excellent shape. Ive been just reading around and stumbled upon posts of guys having valve spring issues with them breaking etc under low rpms? I feel like it isnt a widespread issue but i was seeing peopel say they should be replaced around 50k the stocks that is. This car has 74k and id like to take it on a 500 mile round trip in a week or so...should i be concerned should i go ahead and try and have the replaced prior to going? Car still has stock clutch so i know it hasnt been abused i will also be changing out the clutch soon enough

springs?
what kind of springs should i order and where from? corvette garage? Im going to keep the cam stock for now, but in a couple months id like to upgrade to an MTI x1 cam or something of the same nature? are there strong springs that i can use with the stock cam and also be strong enough for an aftermarket cam?

Check out Texas Speed. PRC Dual springs are what would be recommended with a cam. They sell entire kits that make it pretty reasonable. I would buy the kit and install the cam when you want to. I did this kit on my stock heads. I did the entire valve train (roller rockers, springs, retainers, pushrods). Most dual springs will do just got to be careful with the more serious cams.

are these fine to use for now? I dont plan on doing a cam for some time def not in the next 3-4 months so im not worried about replacing springs down the road

Those will work but check Summit on that price. I just bought a bunch of stuff from Jegs and then realized that Summit had um beat. 1 part was $149 on jegs and $112 on Summit.
