Anyone refund their GMPP?
I was thinking about getting GMPP on another car...
And I read this interesting blurb:
Now, I know I can call GMPP and ask them for clarification, but I want to ask people with experience.
Say you buy a warranty for $3000 for 3 years.
You never use it, because you have a diamond-in-the-rough Corvette that never has issues.
And 35 months later, you call in and ask for a refund. Did you receive $3000 (Minus admin fee?)
And I read this interesting blurb:
Do you have a money-back guarantee?
Yes. At any time within the first 60 days, you can cancel GMPP and receive a 100% refund as long as no claims have been made. After that, you can receive a refund for the unused portion, less a small admin fee.

That's what I'm thinking. Though I do remember a warranty company offering full-money back if the warranty is never used. I thought that was GMPP but now I can't recall.
Edit:
Looks like I was looking at a different chevy website with misleading info. The above is straight from the horses mouth.
Anyone know how they prorate?
Edit:
Yes. You will receive a full refund if the GM Protection Plan is canceled within 60 days and there have been no claims filed. After 60 days, the refund amount is prorated based on time and mileage remaining. (An administrative fee may apply.)

Maybe $83 a month. Just becuase you didnt use it, does mean you could not have. Its insurance for your car. You can get a refund from a 6 month policy from your insurance for the used portion of the picily but not after that time has exprired.

I cannot speak specifically to GMPP, but I had an extended warranty on my previous car via my credit union, and when I sold it, the remainder of the plan was prorated and refunded...

I renewed my GMPP at a diff level and cashed in the old plan before the new plan went into effect.
It was a prorated refund.Got mine thru Ross Downing Chevy.Best price of anyone at the time.

When I bought my extended warranty from Dennis Fichtner @ Fichtner chevrolet, the new policy went into effect one month or so before my original warranty expired. GMPP later sent me a check for the difference between the old warranty when I bought the car, and when the new warranty went into effect, It was like a month and a half ? I thought that nice of them.

I had GMPP (from Ken Fichtner right here on the Forum) for 3 years on my Avalanche...when I sold the truck I got the prorated portion back...no muss, no fuss...but not the entire amount either...I was fine with that...
