[Z06] I'm bored with my car.
#21
I feel you. Stock cars bore the **** out of me too. I went from a '00 SS to '02 Z06 to '05 Z51 back to an '04 Z06. I actually modded my present car and haven't looked back. I actually enjoy the car now that it makes noise, is faster than a stock Z, looks better, etc etc.

Not everyone is meant to have happiness with this type of car.
I have a 2000 Alero 4 cyl. 4 door, DD that I can swap for your car!
No its not necessary to thank me, just do the swap and we can both be happy!

Basically.. at the end of the season last year I was getting bored (apparently).. and then I brought the car out in April and was reminded how bored I was.
That and I like to participate when I can on the forum.. but I guess I've run out of worthwhile things to discuss. I'm just gonna shut up now

From the sounds of ityou most likely won't keep the car for life so you might as well think about your exit strategy. Whether it's next week or the next year or two the thing will be gone.
If the Benz was gone too (repair costs must hurt) what would you honestly buy in an attempt to be happy long term?
For me it would be a ragtop Viper, Ferrari 355 or c6z.

I've been thinking I'll just give the vette to my dad - he worked at GM for 30 years, it's his dream car, and he never owned one. Cars for me are a novelty / toy at this point.. 100% sunk cost. So maybe i should just lease a new toy every 3 years.

Money no object..............
If I were at that impasse of being bored with that particular car and money was no object or the OEM status was not important to me : I would upgrade to a LS7,differential gearing, bigger brakes and suspension.
As it is I just add another car to my collection that has more performance than my '01 Z06.

I am not trying to knock the OP, I don't understand why HP cars bore you in the manner you spoke off. I mean OK the novelty may go away, or you get used to the performance level and it becomes not as exciting anymore right?
Well that would be why you purchased upgrades, but why would sell them before installing them? And then of course you should still be bored?
Perhaps your boredom is not coming from the car itself? A good friend of mine use to change cars faster then some people change clothes, and he had just finished completely updating a 69 Chevelle and was thinking of selling the car so he could get a Buick convertible. He asked what I thought and discussing it I asked him why he kept on trading so much since it was costing him a small fortune. He decided he would keep the Chevelle and he later purchased the Buick and some time later he purchased a Harley after paying for each. After that he was pretty content because anytime he felt bored he had different rides to choose from!
