Default Seats in my C5

The seats in my 97 have been killers expecially on long trips. After lookiing at all my options I decided to order new foam and covers from Mid America. Decided to let them install the seats I took the 2 hour trip over there this morning and had the foam and covers installed. I took with me new plastic bezels for around the bottom and a new seat swich on the drivers side and asked them to install them while they had the seat apart.

I have to tell you, the drive home was completely different; the seats were great and I got home with no back ache, etc. Amaziing what new foam will do.

The guys over at Mid America were great to work with. Eric in the retail store helped set up the appointment and Matt the installer took just shy of 3 hours to finish. Great place to wander around and great waiting area and everyone was super nice. Great experience for a rainy drive from St. Louis to Effingham.

Here is the photo of the seats and one I took as I left the facility. I haven't treated the seats yet and the wrinkles will eventially smooth out. Really love the new look and feel!

It would be very kind of you to repost in a little while after you have driven it for some miles. How much?

I will post after a while.

Cost is no seceret as it is in their catalog; $400 for the foam (for both seats not each) and $1300 for the covers. The leather is a higher quality than the originals which they gave back to me. We trashed the original foam as it was toasted.

Ya, I took the photo before he was completely finished; that's gone now.
I was in too big of a hurry to take the photos.

I must be the only one who thinks the stock sport seats are very comfortable.

I think they are comfortable also, but will be redoing mine as soon as my skins come in.

I REALLY like that silver/black combination. Very classy.

But how the hell did you wander around there for three hours and not spend enough to pay for a new C6?

Well, I didn't spend enough for a C6 but I did spend a fair amount. Quite an interesting place with lots of great "stuff." Even picked up the weather strip for my top (side windows) that I have been wanting to fix. They had it in stock, I was there. . . you know the rest of the story.

What the heck, I got to drive the Vette for four hours with the stereo blasting even though it was raining; it didn't melt at all

Great folks there.
