Default WCC vs. CCW Wheels - Is There a Difference?

While performing some wheel/tire window shopping, I was curious as to whether WCC forged wheels are simply rebranded CCW wheels?

The WCC Forged 946 (link below) looks very similar to the CCW 505A (second link below).

Since WCC offers the chrome option, I was curious whether they simply rebrand the CCW and then outsource the chroming to California Chrome, swap out the center caps and re-package the wheels...

Note, this is all good as it provides another option to purchasing the CCWs (Florida) and then shipping them to California for chroming and back. That adds $$$ so I was curious if WCC already does the legwork. The only difference in looks that I see are the rivets on the perimeter of the barrel.

Anyone?

CCW doesn't build that wheel. It is a local LA company I forgot the name. I've scene both in person and would go with the CCW's by far. Also service wise CCW is 10x better if you have an issue since your dealing with the manufacture.

Those rivets are holding the wheel together. That particular WCC wheel is a 3 piece wheel. The 505a is a 1 piece. WCC actually does sell the CCW's I believe. There's a set in the for sale section right now and yes they do swap out the center caps to say WCC

Thanks. I thought WCC had a set of polished wheels that had a different center cap. However based on the other feedback, it appears this particular WCC wheel is a separate, although similar style, wheel that is not manufactured by CCW.

I agree. I live in Florida and after speaking with CCW directly, I could work a deal and literally pick them up as well instead of dealing with cross-country shipping. I was toying with the idea of a chrome option, however I love the polished look as well.

My WCC 946 3-piece wheels were made by Asanti Wheels.

If you see the WCC 946 wheels and the CCW 505's in person together, you will see the differences. Same idea, very different execution.

WCC used to sell a set that in their catalog really really looked like the 505's, but I think they stopped selling those.

At one time WCC did sell re-branded CCW wheels. They were the only retailer other than CCW itself because WCC would handle getting wheels chromed for CCW. A few years ago that relationship dissolved. As you now know from previous posts, WCC wheels are now made elsewhere. I would stick with CCW. Their quality, service and reputation is known and proven....and their products are made here in the USA.

CCW used to make wheels for WCC (confirmed with CCW rep). I have a set of 505's for sale that were obviously made by CCW but were purchased through WCC hence the WCC center caps.

If you're interested I have a set of 505's with tires (350 miles) that are in mint shape. I'm only asking 3200 plus shipping.

WCC's wheels are also made in the US if im not mistaken. If your close to CCW I would say go with those, but keep in mind most wheels are made by one manufacturer and rebranded.

I purchased my chrome 505a's from WCC several years ago. I love the look of the 505a's, but CCW only sells a polished wheel. As someone else mentioned, I don't think WCC sells them anymore.

Are 3-piece wheels considered better, stronger, etc. than 1 piece wheels? Or vice versa?
