See. No training needed. Natural. And delusional since I never made any reference to anyone in particular. As far as mistakes, I may have made a few. But if I thought I was Mr. Big**** like you, I wouldnt make any. Please Mr. BS tell us how. We would all like to know.
Let it go, your post were inaccurate, period.
The oi nor the 02+ nor any car now days were/are underrated for insurance reasons. They are underrated if at all for liability reasons. Look at Ford and Mazda, they got the pants sued off them because the Mustang Cobra & RX7 did not deliver the power advertised. The rating is the minimum that the motor puts out, hasd nothing to due with insurance.
As for the "stock" 01 making 370 at the wheels, which is incidentally more 02+ produce and about 20-30 more than stock 01's actually do, I going to have to ditto rbartick and raise you.
We can all agree to disagree. Like I said ,I make mistakes, like everyone else makes mistakes. It happens. But when someone like our friend starts hurling personal attacks Ill respond to it. By the way ,he has insulted other forum members the same way. If im wrong im wrong. But ,you cant like Mr.Know-it-All and insult someone because they make a mistake or dont agree with you.
I didn't see any personal attacks but either way, there's nothing wrong with an 01 Z06, If it were a money thing between the 01 and the 02+, I'd have no problem taking an 01.
I own an 01 ,Millenium. Owned Chevys all my life and I think my 01Z is the best car Ive ever owned. Period. Money wasnt a consideration in my case because when the 01 came out, I knew thats what I wanted. No regrets.
TR 01 Z drivers (like myself) are cooler, smarter, and have better hygiene than any other vette drivers. I have hard data to back this up but unless you drive a 01 TR Z....don't bother asking me to explain, your not smart enough to comprehend it. I gotta go floss my teeth now.
01 cars did not get the 405 HP motor, someone is blowing smoke your way. The average stock 2002+ Z06 will dyno 20 more RWHP than the average stock 2001 Z06.
The '01 Z06 has always ( since '02 ) been considered the 'bastard child' because its easy to point at the oil consumption misinformation, the differences in engines and of coarse the heads-up display.
When comfronted by the later model Z06es , just put your head down and say "yes'ser Boss".
This forum has always had a good friends policy. Tone and attitude can not be read, so we give the benefit of the doubt. Take me as expample; after 40 plus years in auto world I don't argue , I just back my side with quotable facts and resources. That usually stops the posts. We have fun and exchange knowledge.

Dave, that's exactly right. But I've noticed here that there's a very good sized group of non-01Z owners here that'll agree any day that the 01Z is a great performer. We know the numbers and performance results between the years and it's not a big difference, especially for anyone who just puts headers on the 01Z.
I would have bought an 01Z instead of my 02 if it had been there instead of the 02. I would have eventually put the HUD in later, but aside from that, I pretty much would keep a stock car anyway.
To Diesel Dave and Crash: Well put. I think if you have any C5Z, you have a stellar, rare performing stock supercar. I have never looked back since I took ownership of my Z. A few external bolt-ons and the Z is in exoticar territory. Were in what I call exclusive vette company. C4 ZR1, 63ZO6, 427, Grand Sport, C5Z,C6Z, C6ZR1. I havent had a reason to have my head down. And I dont know about TR ZO6s but as owner of a BLK/BLK ZO6, Im sunshine fresh myself.

Actually, I've felt the same way myself. I just don't call my car a super car because people will argue until their blue in the face that a super car is required to cost a mint. But I definitely feel that my car is an outstanding performer and it ALWAYS gets my heart going when I get on it. I'm a little used to the power already, but I'm never going to get tired of it.
Well, we know that you didnt have to spend and arm and a leg to own a supercar like the C5Z. I cant keep track of the Porsches, M5s, and even an Aston Martin that Ive humiliated since Ive owned my car (stock). Generally Corvettes will always be a better value than any other supercar available.
